This weekend was the weekend that began our household of two and I enjoyed the new beginning.  Fall for me is a beginning because of the school year starting.  Just like school children, I have some new notebooks and some new pens to use!  On Saturday, I gathered up all the clothing donation bags that were tucked into many closets and brought them downstairs to one location.  Completely cleaned all nooks of the guest bathroom (kid bathroom).  The pantry had a mini redo on it's lower shelves.

Oh the knitting that I did while not moving "stuff" around.  I worked on all three projects at some point or another.  Talked to the kids, listening to their life adventures and am grateful that I can imagine them in their new towns and apartments.

Yesterday, I worried about Frodo who seems to have pulled a shoulder muscle.  That's our best guess, he is eating and drinking fine, so we did not walk and we did give him extra snuggles.  Hopefully today is a better day for him.

There was:  pizza, Dr.Who (the end of Amelia and Rory!!), more knitting, rain showers, leisure newspaper puzzle solving.

How was your weekend?

Thank you all for the well wishes on our Anniversary!!

  2. Sounds like a wonderful relaxing weekend Karen. My kids start this week and I have to say it's with a little skip in my step that I get my house back :) We had F- 16 flying over our heads this weekend.....

  3. Belated Happy Anniversary! Doesn't it feel good to clean out and straighten up? Enjoy the long weekend. I love your photographs!

  4. Happy Anniversary and here's to a new beginning!! I really enjoyed your post today Karen and it has been a great weekend for my DH and I, one that has been quite relaxing and at the same time, quite productive. Enjoy your day!

  5. Lots and lots of rain here. It was much needed though,so I'm not complaining about it. The days were spent mostly indoors in sweats and pj's, watching some movies, getting a few things done inside and of course knitting. Hope you have a great week!

  6. sounds like a good weekend. hope you're extending it through today :)

  7. mine wasn't a whole lot different than yours.....rather quiet. some friends coming for a cookout that might end up being a cookin. We didn't have the deer siting, though!!!!

  8. I love to organize and decluttering. It is always like a breath of fresh air. Enjoy your new space.

  9. I do hope that Frodo gets better soon. I'm sure a few days rest will work wonders.

It's so good to visit you after a month away from blogging. I have so enjoyed my knitting these summer months; like you, it woud seem.

  10. Sounds like a good weekend. I love September 1, kinda feels like a new beginning :) Love the shot of the deer. Enjoy your week Karen.

  11. Sounds like a fun weekend. Here's what I did: http://wifemomknitter.wordpress.com/2014/09/01/weekending-28/

  12. Yesterday was an up early and extra volunteer day at the shelter. They needed people for the dog's photoops. It seems the dogs get adopted sooner when their image is with a volunteer. :) Happy to play with the dogs as I don't have one these days.
Getting my steps in despite the horrid humidity.
Bread in the bread machine, salsa with the first good tomatoes of the season..yum
and frogging a shawl…with a new cast on today!

  13. It sounds like you had a lovely weekend! I hope Frodo feels better soon. It also rained in NY hopefully this week is sunny and cool! :)

  14. Sounds like a busy weekend. Glad you were able to make a little time for your knitting. I always pick up a few back-to-school supplies, even though I haven't gone back to school for several years. :-)

  15. I thought of you when I was awaken before dawn and wondered if you were finally getting to relax so I'm glad to hear you did.
    I am utterly exhausted :)

  20. Your organizational skills are impressive. It would be nice to have a friend like you pop over to supervise my limited abilities. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your empty nest!

  21. We had quite a bit of rain over the weekend which gave me an excuse to spend a lot of time knitting.

  22. Karen, your weekend sounds absolutely wonderful! I was thinking of you this morning and wondering how you were enjoying your paring down of people in your household to just two. I am glad it is going well....I knew you would be knitting, FOR SURE AND FOR CERTAIN! :) Hugs to you, my friend, on this autumn-ish evening.
