My weekend was busy, fun and full of good food and good company.

-my daughter had her bridal shower which my sister hosted (thank you!).  The party was a small family affair and we had a fantastic time

-there was lemon cake!
-a few games
-lots of homemade appetizers and snacks

-the weather was cold and rainy all weekend long
-I had a lunch out with my sister, some shopping, and lots of talking time with my aunt.
-I also saw my cousins
-we had a dinner at my dad's and walked around his ponds and listened to the frogs, bees and birds.
-despite all of the rain, yesterday after being stuck on a highway and losing 1 1/2 hours of driving time (crazy!!) we were gifted a rainbow

How was your weekend?

  1. Karen, your weekend sounds lovely. Thank you for sharing the picture of your daughter and her bridal shower! I understand the craziness of losing driving time due to rain. We were caught in a few downpours ourselves over the last several days.

  2. Did your daughter love her shawl???? Your weekend sounds lovely...so nice that you are surrounded by so much family!!! Have a great week Karen.

  3. Looks like there is a whole lot of love and fun going on in your life! We have the opposite weather from yours. Our weekend was too, too hot.

  4. Sounds like a really great weekend! I am so glad that the shower went well and that you got to do some other things too. This is what I did http://lovemademyhome.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/what-i-did-at-weekend.html Hope that you have a great week! xx

  5. It really is such a great time in your family and I am so happy for all of you.
    Love the rainbow!

  6. what an exciting time!!! (did the shawl make the gift pile?) ahhhh, traffic time = more knitting time! :) Glad you are home safely.

  7. It sounds like you had the best weekend, family and good food...

  8. Would love to see photos of your daughter with the shawl. Maybe in her wedding dress?

  9. Such an exciting time as the countdown to the wedding begins. Weekends filled with family, friends, fun and good are always good. We had rain and cooler temperatures this weekend too, but today the sun is shining and I am just about to take the kiddos into the woods. Have a lovely week Karen.

  10. Small family gatherings are just my speed. I'm glad you got a rainbow at the end of all the aggravation! Enjoy your week Karen.

  11. Sounds idyllic, a wonderful family event before the big day. I too am curious about the shawl...

  12. SO glad the bridal shower was a success! What a great time for the ladies to come together and celebrate the next step in your daughters life. :)
    Love that bouquet of flowers!
Our weather was very nice, low humidity and mild temps. Great for being outdoors. Yes, the shawl, did you get it finished and gifted? :)

  13. Oooh I have this thing for lemon cake. Yum. Glad all the parties were a success! Now, put your feet up!

  14. Such a lovely rainbow! Sounds like you had an excellent weekend-and it looks like your daughter had a beautiful bridal shower :)

  15. Karen, your daughter is beautiful! I love intimate bridal showers, they are the best kind, don't you think? And lemon cake, oh my! I would have been in heaven. I keep hoping to see a rainbow this summer but have not had any luck! Have a great week! xx

  16. What a nice weekend! I had the same weather--very cold, very rainy! I spent most of my time trying to catch up on sleep, so I didn't mind the rain at all. So much excitement in the wedding coming up!!!! Glad to see it's all coming together nicely :)

  17. So fun to be with family and friends and planning for a wedding
My weekend was too hot but we managed to find some shade (and the fans helped too) http://liningupmystitches.blogspot.com/2015/06/do-you-have-frog-you-need-to-eat.html

  18. how exciting... a wedding <3

  19. Any weekend with good food and good company is definitely a winner, Karen. Hope you're having a good week so far xx
