Where I've Been
I went to New York City! We planned a quick get away a few days before we left on Tuesday. Yes, I know many of you live near NYC and I would've loved to meet up with you but I knew I would have absolutely a jammed packed two days. And I did. I walked over 8.5 miles each day and my RA was in full swing. Thank goodness for park benches, cafes and theater seats for me to slightly recover.
We went to the Guggenheim Museum. I have to be honest, my husband is more into art than I am. However I enjoyed myself. I married a person who would read every single placard if there was infinite time available.
The obligatory selfie in Central park.
Trusting a total stranger with my iphone for a couple shot. People are so very kind in the world.
I think this is SoHo....pretty sure....
McNally Jackson bookstore!! (I, sadly did not get to The Strand bookstore, again..)
Purl SoHo!! This was pure heaven, I could have stayed there as long as my husband wanted to stay and read placards in the museums....so so so much better when yarn is involved.
My husband staring at a placard in the Met Museum. I was overly tired in the museum so I walked and looked for a bench and he walked and looked at beautiful art.
I ate the best salad in the world! I watched dog walkers in Central Park and missed my Frodo. I also saw tons of nannies in the park with their charges and thought, "I could be a nanny!!". We stayed in the Upper West side where it's a tiny bit quieter but I was in: midtown, the theater district, SoHo and Greenwich village. There is still many many places I'd like to see.
We went to a play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. The production was beyond fantastic! I read the book a couple of years ago and the play was creatively executed with computer choreographed lights in the walls and floor of the stage. We were blown away by the show! Go see it if you can.
So now I'm home. Oh how I missed it so, my bed, my kitchen, my oh so boring (but wonderful) life. I am slowly recovering from a huge RA flare and so I'm not walking or exercising until my body calms down. Hopefully in 48 hours I will be back to myself.
Oh my daughter is arriving tomorrow :)
I hope to get caught up on all of your posts in the next few days.
