Current Knitting Projects

Yesterday, I officially started knitting for Christmas.  Seriously - I did!  I wanted to knit an asymmetrical shawl but I knew my intended recipient would love a crescent shaped shawl better.  I believe Curious Handmade is spectacular at designing this shawl shape.  I dug deep into my stash and unearthed a cotton yarn that will be lovely to wear in transitional weather.

I'm still toodling along with my surf shawl, this is such a comforting knit.  I might just keep going to make it as big as possible.  I'm still thinking about the mathematical consequences if I do that and will I need to rejigger the pattern.  Oh the thinking I'll be doing.

A sleeve!!!  Isn't is sweet :)  I worked on this last night and have merely an inch to go on the cuff.  Boom, ready for the second sleeve, as quick as you blink.  Sleeves and button bands are simply the best part of knitting a cardigan.  Closer and closer I'm getting to finishing my sweater and wearing it.

I hope this Wednesday is kind to all of you, filled with projects and knitting (or crocheting) and lots of sunshine and happiness.

  1. You are always so organized and prepared! I'm ashamed to say that I've got unfinished gift knitting that is several years old, but I guess I just gave away my secret. Your shawls and sweater are lovely and thank you for the inspiration!

  3. All beautiful. I'm knitting a Spindrift, too. It is such a pretty pattern. I don't alter shawls, though, because I don't understand the construction well enough. And your sweater is going to be so awesome!

  5. That is great you are starting to knit for Christmas! I was just thinking the other day about starting Christmas gifts myself. It is probably good to begin any larger projects now. The shawls are looking wonderful. The sleeve is almost done, you must be so excited you can almost wear your cardigan, it is looking great. Have a good day!

  7. Oh my goodness - I am SO glad you said the 'C' word in May because I was just thinking this morning that now that all my family's birthdays are out the way, now I can start my Christmas making and shopping. Like you I like to get a head start, it always comes around so quickly.

  8. You are making wonderful progress on your WIP's. I am sadly behind. I'm trying to jump start my knitting mojo; I did get some done yesterday in the car. But I'm really excited for my sewing, cutting board to arrive so I can get started on my new project.

  11. Your sweater is going to be such fun to wear. I like the neutral color. I cast on some fingerless mitts this afternoon - colorwork. If they turn out they will go in the Christmas gift stash. Time to plan a few more of those gifts.

  13. Oh, girl! Already working on Christmas! YOU are so good! Love that red, too. Your cardigan is going to be just beautiful! Look forward to seeing you wear it. Most of the math I do these days has to making a shawl larger than it was intended in the pattern. LOL! I love BIG shawls. Have a wonderful day. blessings ~ tanna

You chose such wonderful colors for it.
I have not thought much about Christmas quite yet, as we are having our first warm days of the season, but I probably should be. There is always so much to do at holiday time.
    Have a wonderful weekend!
