This weekend was all about some retail therapy, and it was NOT in a bike shop! My endless hours in bike shop after bike shop with my husband was rewarded with a day trip out to eastern Pa doing my stores. I shopped two yarn shops and of course, bought something at each one.
While my husband has yet to buy a bike (window shopping forever?), I managed to buy a 'bike' on a cute project bag. I've been wanting a new one for quite some time. I love that I now have the best bike that will make me happy.

The delicate pink dk weight cotton blend is for a sweet little dress for the little girl I watch. Super excited about this and hopefully I will have some progress and photos later this week.

Today I relaxed in a quiet empty house while my son and husband went on some kind of mountain bike trail. I stayed in the AC and knitted away getting into a zen state of mind.
Today was an awesome day. How was your weekend?
Great purchases; the bike project bag is cute. I have some Freia yarn but in fingering. It is hot and we are suffering a bit. 100° outside and 82° in the house. I am on my second 2-cupper. My belly is happy tasting the chocolate, cream cheese cupcakes I made earlier today. Listening to Caraval and crocheting.ReplyDelete
And thank you for your sweet comments about the totes. I do like to put a lot of thought into gifts. I'm anal and a perfectionist that way.Delete
I won't lie. I've had better! LOL (Details on my blog)ReplyDelete
Your yarn purchases are BEAUTIFUL. That gradient skein is SO pretty. What yarn stores did you go to.
really great shopping in your world!!! love everything you bought......i think i have some dk wt freia yarn and still haven't figured out what it needs to be. i'll be interested to see what yours turns into!ReplyDelete
Seeing your lovely purchases is almost as much fun as buying yarn myself! Love the bike bag and I can't wait to see the darling dress that pink dk weight is going to be. It makes me wish I had a little girl to knit for!ReplyDelete
The yarn is so pretty and the bag will be fun to use. We had a quiet weekend with face time and phone calls, church, farmer's market, and strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream. I had to treat the great Dad here.ReplyDelete
I love yarn shop retail therapy! The project bag is perfect, that's my kind of bike too. The summer blanket I'm making is in Berroco Vintage. It's the first time I've used this yarn. I'm really enjoying it. Have a nice week, LisaReplyDelete
I love how it's knitting up so far!Delete
Ahhhhh, I do so miss the "fix" of a yarn shop. I'm feeling a serious need. LOL! I enjoyed a skein of the Freia; and I do mean enjoyed! ;) LOVE the soft pink and look forward to seeing that little dress. And, without a doubt, you will create another wonderful sweater with the tonal green! CUTE bag! blessings ~ tannaReplyDelete
Love the new project bag...adorable. And I am swooning over your yarn picks...beautiful! Have a beautiful week Karen.ReplyDelete
The project bag was enchanting and already I am excited to see a little pink dress, exciting shopping.ReplyDelete
Some serious knitting time in air-conditioned comfort in a house all to oneself sounds AMAZING! What lovely Freia yarn.ReplyDelete
LOVE your bag and the yarn is beautiful.ReplyDelete
I love your cute bicycle bag. !!!!! Great find. I love your cotton plans. How does it feel when you knit it? Is it stiff and hard on the hands?ReplyDelete
definitely not stiff but it does make my hands ache a tiny bit.Delete
Sounds like a great weekend. Love your new project bag - so cute. What shops 9cities/towns) did you visit? We are in the HHH (hazy-hot-humid) weather too. Yuck!ReplyDelete
conversational threads and knitter's edge :)Delete
My husband is also into biking. I know just what you're talking about! :)ReplyDelete
Love those colors and can't wait to see you work them into something fabulous!
Great buys, Karen! I wish there was a yarn store near me, I really can't quite believe there isn't a single one! Our weekend was spent working on the house and yard, plus shopping for house items. A productive one, for sure!ReplyDelete
I am most envious of your zen state of mind. My weekend was spent with me and the two boys sick!ReplyDelete
oh no! I hope you and your boys are better when you read this comment!Delete
I absolutely LOVE the color you chose for your new sweater.ReplyDelete
Looks a bit like forest green to me also, but whatever it might be, it is just gorgeous.
My weekend was spent traveling to Boston to spend time with my son, and to take in the Tall Ships. Weather was a little "iffy," but it was still a great weekend!
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Boston is such fun! Our son was there two years getting a Master's degree :)Delete
a new bag, new yarn and a quite day to knit ... sounds like heaven!!ReplyDelete
Now, that's my kind of bike! :) LOVE your yarn choices, specially the pink, which is surprising. I'm not normally a girly lover of pink but that shade.... I'd love to have a sweater or scarf knit from it.ReplyDelete
