Weekends

Merry Christmas Eve!  As promised, I'm doing a quick post to wish all of you Merry Christmas and happy holidays.  My house is full of company and like many of you I'm swimming in details of a long to do list.

my son's 3-D print project and painting
I have the menu plan for a Christmas eve appetizer dinner - I'll have some help from the family but it's all on me to remember everything.

My added to-do item is kitten-proofing the front room today.  Holly needs some freedom, so I'm putting the Christmas decorations and the little tree away so that she can be F R E E.  I hope she likes it.  Right now she is hiding under the sofa, I hope in 24 hours she loves her new space.

I was trying to wait until January 1st, but gosh, she is getting bigger and bigger.  We have her sit with us in the family room many times during the day to socialize with Frodo and us.  We have the lap sitting down to a science.

cannot remember the video game from whence she came
Next up, is sitting on the floors with them on our laps.  Baby steps!

Well, the kitten proofing calls me, wish us luck!

By the way, she tested negative to feline leukemia and has almost doubled her weight in two weeks (oink, oink).  She goes back to the vet in mid January.  We are happy with her progress.

Merry Christmas!

  6. Holly is just so adorable! She is such a lucky little kitten. I am really enjoying following along with the progress she makes with adapting to her new home and companions. I really believe that she and Frodo will accept each other and be tolerant of each other if not friends. Though I do think becoming friends is a good possibility. Merry Christmas and I hope the new year brings you and your family much joy!

  8. Your little kitty is so cute. We've had a quiet weekend so far...made some rosemary walnuts for something different for Christmas. Our dinner with the grandsons is Tuesday so I have an extra day for cleaning and cooking. Merry Christmas to your family and pets.

  9. Just popping in to wish you and all your readers a very happy Christmas. Well done with the kitty too- in that last photo she looks the picture of contentment ( Frodo less so but I’d lay bets she will have him completely under her spell in a couple of weeks!)

    1. I may give The Hunger Games series another go b/c of you. I think I may be more indifferent to the bloodshed since I've been reading fantasy for some time now. Hoorah on reaching your reading goal. My goal will be a 100 for 2018.
