Knitting News

I am making great progress on the mitts!  I am confident that the first mitt will be finished today.  I have thoroughly enjoyed knitting this mitten kit up by Tanis Fiber Arts.  The perfect present for a knitter during these January days.

Guess what?  I'm on the second sleeve of my son in law's sweater.  The second sleeve will go quicker because I've done it already.  Easy peasy.  Once this sleeve is done, I have the neckband to knit.  I'm confident that this will be done by mid February, if not sooner.

My knitting time has been reduced this week due to extra babysitting hours.  I find myself having difficulty transitioning from work to relaxation.  I'm wasting precious knitting time during the transition hours.  Also my reading time has been squashed as well.  This morning, I'm writing everything down on paper so I streamline my brain and focus on what I really want to do!

What are you working on this week?

  3. The pink really does make those mitts pop, they are stunning. Your needles are on fire despite the lack of time the sweater is coming on so fast.

  4. I love the lining. That bright color works great with thegray and white. And way to go on the sweater!
Writing things down does wonders for me. That is, if I don't make the list too long. I have a tendency to think I'm wonder woman when I'm making lists and then I feel overwhelmed and end up doing hardly anything at all. ;-)

  5. Sewing and knitting, trying to find the balance. My Snowflings will be bright pink and cream to match my winter coat! I see you are putting your "pop" of color on the inside. Maybe I should tone mine down? LOL

  6. Oh One trick we used as nurses, was to change shoes and be mindful that we were leaving our shoes and scrubs behind. Don't be so hard on you. You are caring for a young one, what's more important than that???

  7. Oh I love that those mittens are lined with another layer. They are going to be so warm.

  8. Oh, the HAPPY in those pink liners!! ;) You are just zipping along on that sweater, too! Speed knitter. It takes me a little while to adjust to a schedule change, too; but, I know you will. I just finished seaming my vest and it's in the soak getting ready to block after I finish visiting my fave blogs. Yea!! I can't wait to wear it ( I HOPE I like it on as well as knitting it). Ha! More to be revealed. I only finished LAST week's clue on my mystery mitts yesterday... need to get busy on the clues sent last Sunday or I'm going to be behind again. LOL Have a wonderful week, Karen. Take a deep breath... the new rhythm will come. blessings ~ tanna

  13. The pink lining of your mitten certainly adds a spark of joy! I have the same problem in streamlining my thinking. Writing down where I need/want to go is key! Knit on!

  15. That's great you are almost done the sweater! The sleeve knitting is a lot easier. I like the idea of knitting a lining for those mitts to protect all your hard work!

  16. Good sweater progress and a mitten with a surprise hot pink lining. Strong knitting work. Isn't it amazing what writing down the soup in our brains does for mental health and forward motion? All will be well today and tomorrow.
