Knitting News

I've made some significant progress on my sister's cardigan.  The body decreases are completed and I'm half way finished with the body increases giving a slight curved fit at the waistline.  The miles of stockinette are soothing and calming this week.  I love to read or watch TV while working on the body of the sweater.

Today, I'm planning on reviewing my queue on Ravelry and see what I'd like to cast on next since I'm down to two projects on the needles.  Once I decide on a project, I'll be stash diving to see what I have.  More than likely, I'll find something in the yarn stash that will then have me revisiting Ravelry to find a pattern to match.

I love knitting.

What are you crafting up this week?

  1. Your knitting and reading posts always promote the lovely feeling of calm and well-being that knitting brings. That is going to be a lovely cardigan for your sister!

  2. I wish I could master the art of reading or watching TV while knitting, but so far that doesn't work for me. That cardigan is going to be so lovely.

  3. I always start with a pattern and then go to the stash, only to go off in another direction! I have tried to queue up patterns and yarn, but it never fails. The yarn I am using for Indigo Frost was supposed to be use in a sweater. Oh well, it's all knitting.

  6. I've delivered the little pink baby afghan and the dolly and her blankie to the receipients and both were a hit. :-) Now I am working on a different baby afghan in a different pattern in pink. When I have it about half way finished I will start something in blue.

  8. I am working on dishcloths, a new shawl, a pair of socks and the first ever sweater for myself. I have been avoiding the sweater as I a bit intimidated by it. I think tonight after dinner I will pull it out and work on it! Your sister is so lucky! I wish mine knit--and then would knit me something. :)

  9. I finally found a rhythm on the baby cardigan. Chugging along with socks and contemplating the next shawl with no definite plans yet. I knit a boomerang shaped shawl out of garter stitch and scraps while waiting for my eye to heal and new glasses. The garter stitch was a great choice and soothing but I flubbed the little lace border. I will be taking it out and reknitting it. The sweater for your sister looks lovely - stockinette is peaceful.

  11. Good ol' stockinette. I love it too. My shawl pretty much is and I've started my Ramona today which is more stockinette. I ran into an uh-oh on the teenager's sock - ACK! I'm taking some time off from it.

  16. Ravelry is such a dangerous place for me. :) I go looking for a pattern and find ten, then go stash diving to find yarn and discover a skein that I simply Have to knit up... and of course it won't work for any of the ten patterns I'd chosen... So I go in search of a workable pattern... and find another pattern that I love even more than the yarn I'd chosen.... and the process repeats.

Love how your sister's cardigan is shaping up. Such a beautiful colorway!

  17. Sounds like it will be a wonderful cardigan! Hope you enjoy Bear Town, I heard it is really good. I have not been doing well on the knitting front this week, but will try and catch up a bit tomorrow on the tank top by wool and the gang. I hope you have a great end of your week! Love knitting too :)
