Four Striped Hats

My needles have been extremely productive, I'm loving it!  All of the hats are the same pattern called strib hat.  The pattern is easy to knit and lends to all color combinations.  I have been knitting from my odds and ends bag of worsted weight wools.

The hats are for gifts and I'm excited to see if the recipients like their hats.

 Sitting with odds and ends of wools, planning out the striping, getting creative when the wool length was skimpy, made this knitter happy.  Best of all my scrap bag has been thinned out considerably.  I still have pinks and purples left over and maybe I'll make some more hats, just not now.

I have other gift knitting yet to do.

    My favorite hat is the Bears colors one! I am finishing a gift hat for Fireman. I will start on lopi mittens for Al next as she requested a pair. Im happy to knit for my family

    I love these hats. I have the pattern downloaded for knitting - a little later. I have a bag of odds and ends of Knit Picks Swish Worsted that should be just the ticket. I like all the color combinations but the bottom two stand out for me. I am knitting a shawl for my sis's November birthday (can't blog about it because she reads the blog) and Norah's Christmas stocking. I have a sock and a half to finish on the next bit of traveling as well as a pair of fingerless mitts destined for a gift. Tis the season for gift knitting.

    Not a lot of knitting so far this week. I did kitchener a friend's shawl --------150+ stitches on each needle. Boy, is my finger sore.

    The hats look great. The fact that they use scraps is a double win.

    That's a great hat! I need to organize my worsted yarns but you have a winner there. I don't know what I'm knitting next. I finally finished Ryan's mitts, now maybe it's time to finish my Match & Move.

    They will make great gifts. Love the stripey effects. I am working on a scarf. Aiming for finishing as a christmas gift but if not it will have to be for a birthday present for next Feb instead.

    They look wonderful, I love the different effects of the striping and great colour combination. I have been working on wash cloths to go with the soap I have made, its slow going but I am enjoying it.

    I have been on a hat kick, now I am back to afghan squares. Just 3 more to go on the 2nd blanket. The 1st has all the squares knit I just need to finish seaming it!

    I just finished socks and will start a hat (hopefully tonight!!). Your hats have turned out beautifully. I have not completed ANY gift knitting yet.....

    Hmmm...I think it is the person who has been working those needles who has been quite productive, my friend. :) The hats are all lovely. I was excited to pick up some yarn today as something to try out to see how I like the way it works up in a shawl. I'll let you know if it works out.

Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
