Weekends

This weekend was special because of the pesky time change.  I do love the time change that gives me an extra hour but I waste a ton of time thinking about what time it was yesterday compared to today.  Apparently. I've done the time change already since I've been getting up super early for no reason at all.  Phew!

We stayed home this weekend and maximized the wonderfulness by doing nothing important.  Saturday was delightfully spent in my studio for many hours.  I organized knitting patterns in my binder.  I also assessed the fingering weight wool stash and moved many pens around.  I had a grand time in there and so did Holly.  The studio is also called her play room.  She sleeps in there during the day in baskets that are now empty of yarn.

I worked a bit on the cream cowl and prepared to start two knitting projects both for the babysitting toddler for her Christmas presents.  She loves Peppa Pig, so piggy mitts seem to be in order.  Also I'll be making the Sunday Sweater by Ginny

I had a wonderful time sitting and knitting the whole afternoon today.

We attended Saturday night Mass then picked up the large pizza at the local pizza shop.  When I walk in they know me by name.  This small town gets better and better.

Oh hey!  I forgot to show you the brand spanking new pool cover in blue instead of green.  The company says the pool cover can hold an elephant, it definitely holds Frodo who runs across it.

How was your weekend?

  1. Those are the best kinds of weekends. Love hearing about Molly's playroom. :) That cowl is going to be lovely!

  2. I don't mind the time change, but I do the same thing - spend lots of time thinking what time it "really" is. And I'm afraid I'm going to be ready for bed at about 8:00, but I'll just keep knitting. I'm glad you had a practically perfect weekend!

  3. Your weekend sounds like the perfect combination of productiveness and relaxing. Mine was really nice, lots of time with Little B, time is a rare commodity with me so it was a blessing to be with him so much. Have a good week.

  4. We had a nice weekend. The weather turned even cooler so I made a pot of corn chowder and a small batch of oatmeal cookies on Sat. Today we went to church, drove through for coffee on the way home. I did a little research for book group this coming week and then we went back to church for absolutely beautiful choral concert. Not much knitting time but I will remedy that this evening.

  9. I am definitely one of those people who spends time thinking about the time change! We visited my husband's parents in Lancaster this weekend, painfully watching Penn State get blown away by Michigan. A sad day, indeed for us PSU alums. His mom brightened the mood with a delicious lasagna dinner and a vow that we will remain faithful to our team! : ) My husband, on the other hand, is ready to donate all his PSU t-shirts to the Goodwill. Yikes! xx

  15. It takes me a few days to get into the groove of the "new" time. Mylo said he isn't changing and you can't make him. LOL I'll be interested to see how you like the new Kate Morton. I enjoyed The Forgotten Garden, but haven't read any others.

  16. I love that you spent part of your weekend happily arranging your pens. Not many people get that feeling.

I'm loving your white cowl. It looks so warm and snugly. Although warm outside, today is dark and rainy here and our house is chilly and I'm craving warm, snugly woolens.

  17. That is one, sturdy pool cover. First one I've seen w/those cables to hold them down. Do they lock into holes? I love that you're knitting for the toddler. Sunday Sweater is a great pattern. I'm so glad I made one for my niece. She wears my handknits time to time when we get together at my mom's. Makes me happy and shows me how much my SIL appreciates them.
