Weekends

The famous Miss Holly

Hello!  How was your weekend?  Mine was boring.  If you know me well, you know that boring is the very best kind of weekend for me.  I stayed home, I slept in the best bed ever, and drank the best coffee ever made in the best coffeemaker ever.  I know, I know, you're saying 'but Karen, didn't you do anything exciting?'

Nope.  Glorious, isn't it?

I wasted most of yesterday looking on line for a chair that matches our kitchen set.  We have a chair stretcher that keeps breaking so I thought I'll buy another chair.  Well, when your set is 20+ years old the internet does not have an exact match.

So I switched to looking for a chair stretcher part - and found it in Maine.  So now I'm waiting for my husband to do the official measurements to make sure we buy the right size (I've discerned the right style) and put the order in.  Phew!

years and years of yarn tags sorted and still kept
Today I delightfully cleaned out my knitting bag, and a secret box that held the overflow of 'stuff'.  You know like knitting yarn tags!  Oh I loved going down memory lane remembering all of my projects.  Apparently I knit a lot of projects out of:  Madeline Tosh, Quince and Co., Malabrigo and Ella Rae.  I made more room in my secret box for more overflow.  The knitting bag is ready for a new cast on as well.

paintings in progress
I painted a bit after lunch before meeting my friends for the afternoon.  Yesterday and today we had pizza sooooo,,,,,,no cooking for me.

My stay at home weekend was restive and wonderful!

How was your weekend?

  1. Wonderfully boring as well. Your paintings are beautiful. Wow. And the yarn tags make me smile. I tape them into a half-sized three ring notebook and I was just thinking I need to update that notebook. They get tossed into a plastic pocket on the inside of the notebook until I take the time to tape them in and record which project they made. After I am gone, my kids are going to be faced with too many notebooks and scrapbooks.

  6. My weekend was exciting as I hosted my daughter's bridal shower on Saturday and had two of her bridesmaids staying with me. What fun. Unfortunately it ended with an emergency room visit and subsequent admission for my MIL. Testing needs to be done to find out what is making her so dangerously anemic.

  8. I almost had an identical weekend - but I went to visit a historic site with a girlfriend, which turned out to be the perfect little outing!

I am smiling at your yarn tags - I have a little box full of them.

  11. Have you considered keeping a journal with your projects? My mom has one and she keeps a tag of the yarn used (and a piece of the yarn), pattern name, any additional notes, and a picture of the finished product.

    1. I have but I'm terrible at keeping up with it, when Ravelry was invented that solved all of my problems with project notes.

  18. There's nothing like one's bed for sure. Funny enough, I was able to sleep fine in Oahu on the hotel bed. I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend. I love these sets of watercolor painting you've done.
