Weekends

Another weekend come and gone, how was yours?  I thoroughly enjoyed the cooler temperatures even on the drizzly day yesterday.  Just wearing a light jacket makes me joyful.  Now along with fall comes the fall allergies.  I cannot decide if I am experiencing allergies OR the preschooler gave me something.  Every week it seems she is sharing germs.

I guess when you start preschool you receive more than an education.

Whatever you want to coin my stuffy/runny nose, it's mild enough to ignore most of the time but annoying once in awhile.  That's why I lean towards allergies.  Anyways, my weekend was mostly quiet.  Friday night we ate at home instead of going out for dinner like we usually do.

We attempted yet again attending a fall craft fair that has become ginormous.  I bailed after an hour of being there.  There were too many people and I could not approach any of the craft tables due to the excessive crowds.  I wrote to my future self in my planner to not attend unless it's raining...and even then maybe not.

Saturday I enjoyed doodling in my notebook with the daily prompts, pulling out different watercolor sets and having fun.  I like when I take a break from something and then return with more enthusiasm.

We took a walk with Frodo, Fall colors abounding where ever we turned.  In the evening we attended Saturday night Mass and then picked up our pizza.

Sunday morning was more relaxing in between the laundry and reading.  In the afternoon, I attended a delightful bridal shower of a friend's daughter.  So much fun!

I finished the shawl in the photo above and need to do the 'photo' shoot today.

How was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend! I love that painting of the bridge. You're getting better and better at it!
Our weekend was busy, but exciting. We've got ceilings in our bedroom and our kitchen now! (oh, the joys of renovating an old home)

  2. Sounds like a lovely weekend. It is annoying when a small town event gains so much attention it becomes a huge production.
Our weekend was also low key.. we went for a bike ride.. the youngest is finally of his training wheels.
My husband loves Halloween so we got to decorating.

  3. What a great weekend you had. Sorry the fair was unapproachable and too crowded. Fun seeing Frodo walking in that pic and great watercolor.

  5. Can't wait to see the finished shawl. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I'm jealous of your fall colors. It's been so dry here for so long our only fall color is brown.

  6. What a lovely weekend! I am as happy as you are about the cooler temperatures. We went with our daughter and son-in-law to see the NY Giants play and had a great time introducing Dan to the joys of tailgating. We told him that next year we will be taking him to a Penn State game! Being Canadian, he is not a big football fan but he still enjoyed himself. : )

  7. Ah the start of term/year germ sharing, my mother was a teacher for years and this was the start of every year for her.....sorry that is probably not want you wanted to hear. My weekend was just like yours, slow with bits and pieces of activity in between, perfect. Hope you feel better soon.

  8. What a lovely weekend. um - what did we do? Walked in the sunshine, cheered on the Huskers (It is a hard job but someone's got to do it.) Knit a little on my sweater. Church and coffee on Sunday a.m. I am looking forward to seeing your shawl in all of it's glorious colors.

  9. So happy that your weekend was lovely! Because ours was pretty awful. Not anything earth-shaking. Not health related. So we should not have gotten so upset. But! When one gets older, one relishes normalcy and routine. When a needed household item, causes days and days of upset, it is hard to take. -sigh-

Monday and it still goes on. But we really have to get some semblance of order back in our live. So I should get off my keyboard, and do that. -smile-

You have a lovely blog here. Happy I came upon it. Love your Blog Look.

  10. my weekend was a lot more summer-y than yours, but the "fall" vibe is coming. I love that photo of your husband walking Frodo. I hope Frodo is getting more comfortable with the cooler temps ... Holly is still really not ready to venture much beyond our driveway because it's so hot.

  12. I had cataract surgery at the end of last week, so the weekend kind of passed on by without much participation on my past. The good news is that my sight is much improved.
