Knitting News

What does a knitter do when she is so close to finishing a sweater?  She works on a shawl of course.  I haven't spent much time on this shawl and yesterday while listening to podcasts I added 6 more rows.  The border is over half way done.

Well now, I was hoping that the sweater would be done and I have merely six rows to go on the second cuff.  I just couldn't finish it last night, I was tired and so were my hands (cotton is unforgiving), so today is the day the sweater will be off the needles.

What are you working on this week?

  3. I've learned the hard way not to keep knitting late at night when I'm tired and my hands are, too. There are usually too many mistakes to rip out in the morning. Both of your pink projects are lovely!

  5. 6 more rows! You are so done!!! My hands and joints are still complaining from all the knit 2 togethers on my shawl that is off the needles and not blocked. . Im working on a new shawl. I started sock knitting , used a 8 row leaf repeat. Got lost somewhere and it didn't look like leaves...
so I bailed. Happier shawl knitting now anyhow.....:)

  6. Cotton is hard on my hands too, but oh my! That sweater is so pretty and soft looking. I'm betting you get a ton of use out of it. The pink shawl is really pretty too. I'm working on my HItchhiker and I want to pick out yarn for my next sock adventure.

  10. Those two projects are so pretty. My knitting has been rather scattered lately. That means it is time to tend to one or two projects and finish something. Take good care of your hands. You are wise to set aside the sweater and rest your hands. It will be finished - all in good time.
