Knitting News

This photo, my friends, is a photo of me approaching the end of knitting this black sweater. My sister started this featherweight cardigan for herself and did the body and one inch of the ribbing. She asked me to finish the sweater for her since it's been in her basket for a few years. I have romantic visions of finishing this project tonight while watching TV, if not tonight, then tomorrow night.

Once this sweater is off the needles I'll be returning to marathon knitting my nephew's baby-to-be blanket. I cannot wait to have a semi-empty knitting bag to fill up with new projects.

What are you working on this week?

  1. You are so close!! Congratulations. You are a good sister. I am nearing the finish of the 2nd lava sock and I already have (Fall inspired) yarn picked out for the next pair of socks!

  3. Would you like to be my sister too? I have a cardigan languishing in my knitting basket that needs some attention. I promise it is not black. What new projects will you be putting into your knitting basket?

  6. I love that you are finishing this cardigan off for your sister, so happy that you are reaching the last few stitches. I love knitting with finer yarns but they do take so much longer to knit don't they. I have cast on a cardigan this week in a 4ply yarn, it is going to take a few months for me to knit I think!

  7. Are you sending the sweater back to her to weave in the ends and block? (or are you truly going to garner sister-of-the-year and do that, too?!) ... I started Ankestricke's latest JiJi today - it's a lot to pay attention to, but I am enjoying it!

  8. I have a sweater that is languishing in the bag because my vertical gauge is off and I am afraid to work the armholes. I have to get back to it and try to figure it out.

  10. I've been sewing to rest my tendonitis. Tonight I hope to get in a little knitting. I've been waiting forever to get to the colorwork on my pumpkin socks.

  11. I still cannot believe you are finishing for you sister. WOW! I forgot to bring my knitting to the doctors offices. Fireman was driving, but we had some texting going on with a pal, and I wouldn't have had knitted then anyhow. But, now, I shall commence on my shawl knitting for the night.

  12. I have been a bit distracted with my knitting which means I am not making good progress on anything. I am almost finished with a color work yoke and then I will have two sweater bodies and lots of round and round. Need to figure out which one to focus on and get it done.

  14. Hooray for closing in on the end of your sister's sweater. I am knitting mostly on my daughter's shawl and although I have enjoyed it, I am ready for it to be finished. The rows are long and I'm pushing the stitches along. I don't think I'll finish it this evening or even by the end of the week. Maybe next week. I pulled out the little baby sweater I'm knitting from scraps for a knitting break this afternoon. Now back to my regularly scheduled shawl.
