Weekends

baby sweater is almost done!

Good morning! Another weekend has come and gone, how was yours? I hope it was as restful as mine was. I spent most of the weekend doing what I love: knitting, reading, and some watercoloring.

The above card is for my mother in law's birthday. I was in the moment while I dabbled with my paints. I need to do this more often but for some strange reason I push this aside for other creative pursuits.

Saturday was a nice enough day for a much needed walk in between days of rain. The trees are mostly bare around here, good bye fall!

Sunday morning I watched Mass on Youtube and did all of the laundry for the week. We had rain in the morning and then a cloudy dreary day until evening. The time change has messed me up most of all! The pets are fine with it and so is my husband.

How was your weekend?

  1. I had to go to bed early last night, the time change really was goofing me up too.

  2. Count me as another person who had to go to bed early last night. When it was cold and dark at 5:30, my body just wanted to be in bed!

  3. I find the Fall time change easier than the Spring one. My husband hates it though. I slept well, but the WIND! It is very, very gusty out there - windows rattling, etc. I couldn't get back to sleep this morning after Tyg got me up at 5:00!

  4. We had some beautiful weather so lots of outside time here. And I started my new gratitude journal. I always enjoy your weekend posts.

  5. It was early to bed here too last night (and extra early to rise as well! lol) Beautiful painting! Yes, those high winds shook the remainder of the leaves out of our trees as well :(

  6. i love watching your knitting progress. i'm such a slow knitter. my current project has been going for a couple years. it took me a long time to get it started and then i messed up when i thought i was doing well and have had to undo half of it. i'm almost to the point where i can pick up again, just a little more to undo. i guess i need knitting lessons again! :-)
    love, kisses and magical wishes...

  7. Love your watercolor card!! A great creative outlet....if it's like mine, it competes with knitting too much sometimes!!! That darn camera has to be in use every day around here...

  8. My weekend was crazy with the day spent at the emergency vet on Saturday but Sunday was nice, we watched some great football games and our team won. The time change sure does mess me up to. I love the pretty card you made for your mother in law. Have a beautiful week :)

  11. Our weekend seemed to rush by! I love the morning glow of your sunrise. It's nice to greet the day this way. The watercolor surely says fall, even if your bare trees don't.

  13. We lost power twice yesterday. Our weekend was productive. We starting talking to a professional about our feelings about the kids living so far away. It is just sad to us especially on their birthdays. Got some steps in sunday outside and found owl pellets. Ripped out knitting

  14. My husband traveled to Pennsylvania to help his mom prepare for her move to CT and so I was graced with two days of solitude. I did as I pleased, leisurely read the morning papers, worked on embroidery, painted. I got to watch a movie I had been wanting to see (because my hubby is not a big movie fan) and read, read, read. It was divine! : )

  15. We had our time change last weekend, I loved my extra hour of sleep. We have had a bit of time to adjust already but the dark evenings take some getting used to don't they. I love your painting, I know what you mean about being absorbed in it and then wondering why you don't do it more often......

  16. The time change rarely bothers me though I know some people find it difficult. Your watercolor is very pretty. I can see how well you are improving with it.

  17. What a pretty card for your mother-in-law. It is fun to create and make in the moment. The card matches the fall photo just below it. We still have some leaves on the trees and today was sunny and warm. Just gorgeous. We had a nice weekend with a nice socially distanced visit with my sister and brother-in-law. She had us for brunch. As my husband said, it was so nice just to sit and visit with someone. The baby sweater looks so cute. I wondered what color you would put with the brown.
