Weekends

How was your weekend?

One of the things I love most about winter, and there are many aspects, is that the weekends blend into each other in sameness. Every weekend might just look like the last weekend and I can comfortably predict next weekend as well.  The constancy of sameness is soothing and calming.

I had a grand time 'rearranging' art and craft supplies Saturday morning. I have ordered another notebook planner cover and a new notebook (yes, another one). This one with hold art journaling. I have LOVED doing the daily haiku challenge and while I love the comfort of a small page I'm excited to branch out to a bigger space. I'll show you eventually.

I've been pulling out various watercolor pan sets and using them. The top photo of the woodpecker was a set without black. Good gracious, I really don't like to mix black, but I appreciated the challenge.

In the evenings I'm working on my latest fair isle sweater that I cannot stop knitting. All other projects languish at the bottom of my knitting bag.

Someone asked me what the paisley print-looking book is in the above photo.  It's an I-pad Mini enclosed in a paisley cover bought from Amazon about a year or so ago.

Frodo is the ultimate snuggle bug during the winter.  I love it so much.

My weekend also included: lots of reading - homemade pizza - chatting with my sister - Zoom knitting - laundry and cleaning - lots and lots of reflective journaling - gratitude for good health -

How was your weekend?

  4. Your sweater has such lovely colors.

We had a nice quiet weekend with lots of kitty snuggles and lots of knitting. It couldn't get much better than that.

  7. Oh thanks for the reminder of home-made pizza! We need to do that and soon. Yum. Love your sweater - the colors are so pretty. Frodo - what a snuggle bug. Does holly snuggle at all or does she keep her distance?

  8. How cozy your post it. I wish Minnie was more cuddly. If I don't have anything around me on the couch she'll put her back up against my thigh sometimes. Love your fair isle sweater.

  9. Mine was a bit consumed with projects for Little B for school, thank goodness we are done with them! I did have a crochet finish and spend a lot of time looking for a pattern for fingering weight yarn, I think I found one! Stay safe.

  10. Sounds like a great weekend! I like that lately we are just at home relaxing. This past weekend, I had a lot of time to knit more of the baby blanket. This is time I really appreciate to catch up. I love the watercolors. Frodo looks very comfortable under the blanket! I love the fair isle sweater and the colors. Have a good week ahead :)

  11. Combining water colors with haiku is so beautiful. What a gift you have for creating. I can see why you are entranced with that sweater. Indoor weekend here with bitterly cold weather. I was a slug yesterday but got a lot of knitting done.

  13. You're right about the winter weekends being pleasantly the same (as are the weekdays, lately) - the weather does change a bit - maybe wetter, warmer ... or not - but the colors and the rhythms are the same. I LOVE your haiku and watercolors!

  14. Sounds like you had a good weekend! Ours was snowy, but today we had some blue skies as the snow was melting and finally got out for our first walk since last Friday! Great haiku!

  16. I love your haikus, Karen! They are lovely, as are the illustrations that accompany them. Our Saturday was quiet (like you, I love the predictability of winter weekends) and on Sunday we had our moms over for a Valentine's Day dinner. All in all a great weekend!
