Weekends

My goodness did I just have a difficult time aligning these photos, so goes a Monday morning.  How are you? How was your weekend? Spring is here! Look at my dogwood trees, although the blossoms are a bit tiny this year, still they are beautiful.

We started the Big Declutter this weekend. I went through all of my clothes and will donate what is in the photo below. My husband is half way through his clothing. The problem with big closets is that you can stuff them with tons of things you don't need. I probably could get rid of more clothes but for now I'm satisfied with the progress. Baby steps with letting go.

Even though we are busy with the decluttering, I am managing to sit and knit each evening on the same two projects. I also squeeze in some sketching time.

How was your weekend?

  1. Good for you on the decluttering! I need to do that. I was going to go through my closet yesterday...but then I didn't. LOL I noticed the dogwoods around here seem to have smaller (and maybe less??) blooms this year, but still so pretty. For years we would bring dogwoods back from Virginia to plant, but they never took on our property!

  2. That looks like quite an accomplishment, clearing out all those clothes. I'm lucky that we have very small closets in our old house so I barely have room for the clothing in one of those bags. Your dogwoods and watercolors are lovely!

  5. I had a lovely weekend meeting up with a friend for some knitting and a whole lot of laughing.

  6. I think getting started is the second hardest step to decluttering (the hardest is actually getting the bags out of the house). We had a quiet weekend here and it was perfect for resting, resetting, and reconnecting!

  7. I am constantly decluttering clothes.. I always have a donation bag in progress. Last weekend our town had a large item pick up.. we aren't allowed to place unwanted large items curbside through out the year so we all wait for the last week of April.

  8. I just dropped off the bags from my closet declutter. So good to get that stuff out of the house. I am trying very hard to stay with one sock and one sweater right now because I really want to get them finished. Love your sketch book.

  9. I need to do the seasonal switch of wardrobe between closets. Whenever I do that I access what stays and what goes. I'm trying to be mindful about new purchases. Weekend weather was beautiful - low 60's for highs and sunshine. It was a nice weekend for walking and working in the yard. I cleaned out more of my strip of perennial flowers. The toddler cardi is all finished except buttons. I worked on my current shawl and did a little spinning.

  10. I had several garbage bags full of clothing and household items sitting in my basement until a couple of weeks ago when I brought them to the thrift store. It feels so good to clean out sometimes. I really could do more also as there are clothes that are well past there usefullness and others that I haven't worn for years. Next time. Enjoy your knitting.

  11. I laughed at Mary's comment... yes, that is most certainly true! My proof... I have two bags in the basement that have been waiting longer than a month to go someplace! :)

  12. Way to go at decluttering! I want to get rid of some cloths too (too small, not my style anymore), but I have to buy new ones first. Right now I'm down to two dresses I can wear in public and two I wear at home...
    I love your paintings!
