Knitting News

I know what you might be thinking. There should be a finished project, like the baby blanket or the poncho or the never ending shawl. Well hopefully next week the baby blanket will be done. But instead of focusing my energy on madly dashing over the knitting finishing line, I decided to cast on something new. I am making a pair of fingerless mitts for Christmas giving. I was happy to be knitting a small project for a change. I hope to make more mitts for more people in my life over the next few months.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Fingerless mitts seem like the perfect thing to knit in between larger projects, and those others are all quite large products. I'm working on a Hitchhiker, very slowly, but it feels good to be knitting after barely knitting a stitch for two weeks.

  2. Nice start on the fingerless mitts - beautiful color. I have knit some as Christmas gifts in the past and they are always appreciated. It's good to have something small to work on too.

  6. Pretty colornfor the Christmas mitts. I finished my shawl project and just cast on a cardigan for myself. I also cast on a dishcloth to work on when I want an easy relaxing knit.

  7. A small project works so much better in this hot, humid weather. I've been working on blankets for us, but they are still very small.

And, of course, there are ALWAYS socks to knit.

  8. I'm giving fingerless mitts for holiday gifts this year, too. I'm taking a bit of a break from them to finish a scarf that has been languishing for years!

  11. I applaud you thinking about gift knitting. I'm totally focused on selfish just for me projects right now!

  12. Such a pretty red yarn. I surely enjoy knitting fingerless mitts and they make such nice gifts. I think it is a great idea to cast on a new project in the midst of those big ones. The heat and humidity are so oppressive that a small project is a good way to knit until we get to autumn.

  13. Oh boy, Christmas! Last year we don't exchange gifts. Only with my parents we did. I usually try to note down ideas I see around IG and FB.
I think it's fun how you're knitting with red. I've been wearing a little bit of red in my wardrobe: a Wonder Woman tee with red, athletic GAP pants.
