Randomness

Good morning! How are you? The last time I posted I mentioned that my husband had the stomach bug last Saturday. After diligent sanitizing, social distancing in our house, I was blessed with the same virus on Tuesday (ugh!).

I am feeling better every day but this virus has taken a lot out of me. Yesterday was the first day I was sitting upright and able to read and comprehend a book. I haven't done much knitting or anything else this past week. Eating food is a chore as well. I am getting too old for this!

The above photo of me knitting maybe 4 rows on a second sock before exhaustion sets in once again and I set aside the knitting and resume reading a book.

Frodo has been my constant companion, he is a funny little guy. The older he gets, the more clingy he becomes. He mainly sits beside me most of the time but does like to sit beside my husband as well. However he has to see me and gaze at me lovingly while fighting sleep across the room. And while he shows his age in some ways he also is still a pup at heart.

He knows at 3:15 p.m. that the neighborhood kids get off the bus and walk by the front of the house. He stands in the kitchen looking out a window in the family room in high anticipation then barks his head off. He does this all over again for the 4:15 p.m. bus. This makes for a noisy noisy house. He still ferrets out Holly if she is hiding in the family room again, more barking.

I hope all of you are well, I will try to catch up with all of your blogs but it's going to take some time.

  5. I'm sorry to hear that your best prevention efforts didn't work and your husband shared his awful virus. Husbands should keep things like that to themselves! Hope you continue to improve and have a good weekend.

  6. My male dog is like Frodo. Has to always have me in his sight. He is also getting more clingy the older he gets. My female likes to be with her people but not right next to them. Such different personalities they have. Both bark at the slightest noise too.

I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Stomach bugs are horrible at any age.

  7. Hope you are feeling up to par soon.

I swear Giroux has a little tiny watch. At 4 pm he sits and stares. He wants his dinner. At 3 AM, he has to make sure I'm still alive by flopping on my face while I'm sleeping and purring like a Mack truck. He is ALWAYS right on schedule for both those things.

  9. I'm glad you're feeling (a little) better ... stomach bugs are the worst! I feel sure that Holly and Frodo are kindred spirits ... Marc says that Holly's favorite place (when she's not in my lap), is next to him, with a clear view of me :-)

  14. Phew. I am glad you are on the mend. There isn't much that is more miserable than a stomach bug. Take it easy and rest when your body tell you to do so. I am a firm believer that rest helps with recovery. Frodo is such a handsome guy and a great companion.

  15. Weird. I was up half the night with a stomach thing last night. I wasn't sick or anything, but it was a pretty bad stomach ache that kept me tossing and turning until I gave up and sat up for a while in the living room. I'm feeling better now, but still pretty low energy. I hope you're feeling better soon!

  17. Goodness! I'm glad you're on the mend, but take it slowly and take care of yourself. Those bugs are hard to come back from!

  18. I'm sure you took it easy. Once that bug hit our family when we had lived in the city. We learned to open up the windows and we had made the youngest wear the Bjorn bib because she wasn't good at aiming or letting us know beforehand if she had to vomit.
