Knitting News

On Monday while the workers were here in my house installing insulation in the attic and sealing the air leaks in the basement, I decided to start my grandson's Christmas sweater. Well due to the noise and disruption of the busyness of the past two days, I made numerous errors and was unknitting rows.

The good news is that I love the yarn and the re-knitting makes me happy. I bought the yarn and the pattern at a local yarn store. If you know me well, I am drawn to top-down seamless sweaters.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Such a pretty shade of green - that will be a lovely sweater for your grandson. I'm knitting socks and a dishcloth.

  2. After doing both top down and bottom up, I now only work top down sweaters. So much easier to adjust the fit. Hopefully the noise level has quieted down in your home. How did the critters do? I am trying to finish up a pair of Rose City Roller socks.

  4. Gorgeous pattern and lovely yarn Karen, I am glad to hear you are enjoying your knitting. I am on with my jumper, body complete now working my way down sleeve one.

  5. I'm also a huge fan of those topdown sweaters! I blocked my test knit for Heidi K this morning and spent a couple of hours unraveling a scarf I never wore this afternoon ... thinking about a new cast-on (once I get the kinks out of that unraveled yarn).

  6. Top-down is the best way to knit sweaters for sure. A wee Christmas sweater sounds like a great project. We were visiting our daughter and family. I worked on a pair of socks but really only knit on the plane. I'm completely happy with that.
