Weekends

Just when you think you've had it with the hot humid weather, Mother Nature just goes around and blows in cool crisp air. Heavenly! I opened a few windows and enjoyed the chill, refreshing and rejuvenating. I just might make it to the fall season without being overly grumpy.

How was your weekend?

Friday night we had dinner at my sister and brother in law's house (no cooking!). Afterwards, we sat on their back patio and enjoyed the evening. On Saturday after walking Frodo, I did a bit of cross stitching which is frustrating for me because it is white thread on off-white linen fabric, ugh. I also did a mini marathon reading session of the novel, The Stand. I am closing in to the end of the book. (yay me)

Sunday we went to Mass and I did the usual pesky household chores once we were home. Throughout the weekend I sat outside either at the patio table or on my gazebo swing (reading of course!). Oh and I started a pair of socks for my husband, just because.

How was your weekend?

  1. We had a brief bit of cool air, but not cool enough for open windows yet.

  2. Our windows are open (and I've been sneezing a lot - goldenrod is blooming now). My weekend was full and good!

  3. It's a little cooler and less humid here, but still in the mid-80s, and no rain! But we're almost to September when it might actually be fall.

  4. Savoring the cooler weather. So much! And mid-August is not depressing me... I love September!

  5. Sounds like a lovely weekend. My cross stitch is sitting by me laughing. I too, am to the part of white thread on off white Aida cloth. Not fun.

  6. My weekend was quick! I finished three amazing books and started a 2nd sock. Looking forward to some cooler weather later this week (and hopefully some rain, too).

  8. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I made and froze tomato sauce and roasted tomatoes on Saturday afternoon. We went to church on Sunday and I spent some time spinning Sunday afternoon. The evening was nice so I took a short walk after dinner.

  10. I love the color of the socks...can't wait to see them progress. I have been reading more than knitting lately...I need to get back on track in order to get holiday gifts done.

  12. Your weekend sounds perfect. I think we had all the hot weather round our way as we had very very hot temperatures over the weekend, even for us. I spent mornings and evenings in the garden when it was cooler and during the middle of the day pottering in the house. I too have cast on a sock recently, I have finished number one now and am part way through sock two.
