Weekends

Boy oh boy, did this weekend speed on by! I didn't do much outside of the house, but I was engrossed in cross stitching. I am trying my very best to finish this project. I spend about one hour a day (that's all I can manage with white thread on cream background).

I'm also motivated to crank out a pair of socks for my husband. There is a critical need for more hand knit socks. Ah, the knitter's dilemma that delights the soul!!

In between knitting and reading I did my weekly chores.

How was your weekend?

  1. Your projects are so nice! I love the socks. Looks like a perfect pattern for the yarn. Your husband is one lucky guy. The cross stitch is very nice. Such delicate work. Can't wait to see the updates on Wednesday. :O)

  2. Chores are best accomplished when you take breaks for knitting!

  3. You're doing good to give an hour a day to your xs. White on cream is a killer. The sock is coming along nicely. Your hubby's feet will be nice and warm. My weekend was filled with decorating and helping family unpack into their new home.

  4. I love your cross stitch piece - so pretty. But, you are right, white on a cream background is tough on the eyes. Also love the yarn you've chosen for your husband's socks. Very handsome!

  5. It was rainy and cold here. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. The knitting wasn't going so well. I think I spent more time taking out stitches than putting them in until Sunday. Sunday was a good day knit-wise.

Your cross stitch project is beautiful. But white ........oh my word, white is hard to work with.

  6. Beautiful stitching, Karen! But I hear you on that struggle of white on white!

  7. I get the stitching difficulty of white on cream. That is such a pretty chart. I love the socks you are knitting. I really have to figure out how to do that sometime soon. Have a great week.

  8. Hi Karen,
...I love the white on cream in your cross stitch...so pretty...I'm still knitting the two toned burgundy socks...and I'm replacing the straps on a handmade purse that was gifted to me years ago with some soft packable crocheted ones for the trip to Japan...
    ~Have a lovely day!

  11. I love that knitter's dilemma. The cross stitch project is coming along. White on white is a challenge. My husband is allergic to wool so in our 45 year marriage, I've knit him one sweater - before we discovered the wool allergy. How was the weekend? By Tuesday evening, it is a bit of a blur. I did get out for two nice walks and talked to my children. We went to church on Sunday. There was so much coughing I put on a mask.
