Weekends

This weekend was slow and easy. I'm still not feeling the best which makes canceling our travel plans to visit our grandson in Indiana the right decision. Our son face-timed me when our grandson had his first birthday cake. I was happy to witness his messy messy eating!! I am grateful for modern technology and being connected to those who live far away.

Over the weekend, I did some mixed media art that is in the first photo and I did some watercoloring in the bottom photo. I've had weeks where I don't 'feel' like creating art. I've just accepted that it was a phase and I would want to get back to it eventually. Well this weekend was the weekend to feel excitement sitting with my papers and paints.

We did drop in a local art store as well on Saturday and I snapped that street art. My husband and I bought a few things then headed home.

Over all the weekend was lots of resting and recovering. How was your weekend?

  1. Your little pink flowers are beautiful.

It was a good weekend here. I tried a new recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was delicious. I love when a new recipe is a winner.

  6. Hope you are feeling better soon. Happy Birthday to your grandson. With both our families living on a different continent, technology really has helped us stay in touch with each other.

  7. I am so sorry that you didn't get to attend your grandson's first birthday party. I am happy to say that my husband and I were finally able to visit our daughter, SIL and granddaughter this weekend. It is hard when they don't live close by.

  9. Such pretty art work! Hope you feel lots better soon. This past Saturday the grandkids and their dad came over and helped put the train away which was fun. It had been up in our living room since the holidays, and now our living room is back to normal!

  10. Your art is delightful. I think creative processes ebb and flow and you are wise to recognize that when it happens. FaceTime is a lifesaver for us. I hope you are feeling quite normal and energetic soon.

  12. hope you're feeling better - I have to think that the lovely art (and new supplies?!) will help! I snapped a blurry photo of the first barely blooming cherry tree blossoms this morning ... it feels almost too early for signs of spring, but I'm ready for it!
