Knitting News

 


Well here is a project that is a blast from the past. According to my notes, I started this shawl on May 26th last year. I have repeatedly pushed this project aside for more important knitting. Once my scarf is completed which will be within 48 hours, I am focusing on this shawl.

Of course there will be some newly cast on projects as well, I am a knitter and that is what knitters do!!

    Such a pretty shade of pink. I do not remember this one. The color reminds me of the inside of a conch shell (which is appropriate given the name of the pattern). I have not knit much this past week...need to remedy that!

    It feels good to give "old" projects there time.

    I'm working on a Hitchhiker shawl that I would like to have done by the end of the month.

    Oh, but it is a lovely shawl! I'm currently searching for my knitting mojo (or crochet mojo - I'd be fine with that too?). I haven't felt like making something for a while...

    Oh, I remember that shawl. It is going to be so pretty when completed. I just finished a prayer shawl for our church's cancer ministry. Now working on hubby's socks. No plans to cast on anything new right this minute. But that can change at any given moment.

    Can't wait to see the end result of that pretty project! It's way too easy to ignore a project and cast on a new one instead, isn't it? I am very good at that!

    Isn't it fun to pull out an "old blast from the past" project? This one looks lovely. Enjoy all of your knitting. I'm working on a sweater and a small child's hat as a charity donation.

    I've just started another experiment with stripes and intarsia in the round. I'm trying to work through some of my stash, but as usual more stash keeps coming to live with me! Oh well...

    You are so organised that you know when you cast it on, I am terrible for keeping Ravelry up to date, I have probably knitted twice the projects I have recorded on there.

My weekend happily contained: -wearing the above woolens all at the same time without being hot -so many walks and taking in the changing leaves. -a leaf shower on Saturday-the wind swirled the leaves off the trees up in the air to float down -changing screen savers to autumn themes! -a craft fair where my husband and I say "we could make that", but we don't. -french fries at the craft fair -scrambled eggs and toast for dinner because we were lazy. -football season has descended in my house. he was in the front room watching whatever is on today -I sat in the family room and watched A Tree Grows in Brooklyn .   Now I want to read it again. -Oh! Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga
