Happy List

I am on the last gnome! This alone brings me joy and happiness. I hope I can finish number seven today but if not today definitely tomorrow.  How are you? I've been great, my aches and pains from over knitting seem to have eased up (like they always do thank goodness).

The weather has been nice enough for daily walks with Frodo. Sometimes I wish for colder weather and sometimes I am happy with the weather I have. Not too cold, not too hot, just right.

While I finish this last gnome, I am thinking of little ornaments I would like to quickly knit up. My goal is to make at least four but I might make one for myself.

I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and came across this sign which sums up my attitude about cooking. My sister loves to tease me about anytime I rejoice at not cooking dinner. Such a silly thing I love to eat.

What makes my happy list:  Frodo looking cute and cuddly - Frodo's deafness and all of his fears are gone because he cannot hear the thunder or flies - Holly doing her zoomies everyday upstairs sounding like a herd of buffalo - salads for dinner - sourdough bread - an afternoon reading - new friends and old friends - the power of being in the present moment - birds at my feeder - to do lists - knitting.

  3. Congratulations on all the gnomes! I understand that sign. My grandmother used to say that food always tastes better if someone who loves you makes it for you, and I think that's true!

  4. Your happy list is so wonderful! Congratulations on getting to the last gnome...you've made a lot. I was thinking of trying (ha) to make a little star garland or something. We'll see. I'm still busy-busy-busy at work, so that may not happen.

  5. Those are very GOOD "happies". Frodo looks quite content sitting by his person. I feel the same way you do about cooking. The less the better. LOL

  6. I noticed my Enrique dog is starting to get a bit hard of hearing. It makes me sad but glad too. Like you said, his fear of thunderstorms and fireworks has abated. I want to make more gnomes but will stick with the male gnomes. The female had so many parts and was kind of a pain to put them all together. I guess I am not a very patient person LOL. I love your gratitude lists. You inspired me and I have been doing them for the past several months. It really makes you realize how blessed you are.

  7. Congratulations on being on the last of the gnome knitting. They are so adorable! I'll look forward to seeing the Christmas ornaments. I know they will be special. "The power of being in the present moment"...that's what I am striving for.

  8. That's a great sign! Nice work on all those gnomes. Are you going to post a group photo of them? What kind of ornaments are you going to make?

  9. I love the kitchen sign. I am not someone who enjoys cooking either, so maybe I need to get a sign like that. Wow, you are being productive when it comes to those cute gnomes! I totally agree with you of the power of being in the present moment. This is something I would benefit from. My mind is always racing ahead to the next thing. Nice post. Have a good weekend.

  11. Google isn’t playing nice for commenting for me lately, sigh will need to work on that. Frodo is so sweet. Our Cody is loosing his hearing too which is sad for him but a blessing when there is fireworks. Your gnome is going to be cute.

  13. Hurray for the last gnome. Your "happy" list makes me smile. I try really hard to enjoy cooking but honestly after all these years it's hard for me to be excited by cooking.
