Christmas Stocking III

Good morning to you!

I finished the Christmas Stocking for the newest grandson. I have yet to stitch his name on the top. I don't know about you, but I dislike duplicate stitching. I find no matter how careful I am I think it looks sloppy while I am doing it. But when I take a break from it, it looks lovely. I guess I am too critical. I will make one more stocking for my house just in case they are ever here for the holidays in the coming years.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Duplicate stitching... the struggle is REAL! I just can't get the hang of it but I will muster some stitching mojo and beam it your way! Good luck!

  2. I'm another who is not fond of duplicate stitching. The stocking looks great! Congrats on finishing it.

  3. That red is beautiful. You could always embroider a little square with his name and hang it from the loop for stocking hanging.

  4. I think I've only used duplicate stitch once to stitch small hearts on the tops of a pair of mittens. It's not my best stitching/knitting skill. But how nice to have the stocking finished. The red is a very pretty shade.

  5. Nice work! I'm also working on a Christmas stocking that's sewn/quilted though and am also trying to finish some other knitting projects.

  6. Well, would you believe that I actually have a project that I'm going to start? I found a cowl pattern that looks simple enough that I think I can crochet it.

Your Christmas stocking is so pretty. I love that shade of red!

  10. I have never been good at stitching. I can't even make the lines straight while doing my weekly carpet cleaning. What chance do I have to line up the name properly on a stocking. I'll just stick to buying my stockings each year.
