Happenings

Good morning from a very snowy place! I love it so much, I know I am the odd one out but it's always a fun day when there's a snow day. Of course, it's fun as long as I have utilities. The whole town and near-by city shut down yesterday while the snow fell. Today I think there's one more inch to arrive then they will be clearing all the main and side roads.

I did my laundry and chores yesterday then sat and started two knitting projects, a cowl and as hat both for me. The cowl yarn is a birthday gift from my sister back in November. The hat was an impulse yarn buy this weekend (why not!). My son asked me how much yarn do I have in my closet...um... a lot.

This week is my last week off for winter break and my adult classes start up again next Monday. I am excited to get back into seeing my friends and of course learning new things.

How was your weekend? Did you get any snow? I hope all you all are safe and warm in your houses.

  1. We got a goodly sum of snow yesterday as well... it is just so beautiful out! (at least until you have to actually go and do something, ha!) Happy knitting to you today!

  2. We got about 2 feet of snow and expect a bit more today. We are in North Central Mass so we are used to storms of this kind. I purposely did not knit or crochet all week due to a flare up in my CMC joints. Yesterday I was able to crochet a bit and finish a baby blanket. I love the colors of your yarn and can't wait to see what the things look like you are knitting.....enjoy the snow!!

  3. We got a pretty good amount of snow (about 1 foot). Steve is digging out my car as I write this.

I did pretty much the same as you...caught up with chores, knit quite a bit, and daydreamed about which cross stitch project I should pick next.

  4. We are still getting snow today. When I posted on the blog this morning, I said we only received about 3 inches of snow out of the storm. Well, now we have somewhere around 8 inches! From looking at the weather map, I'm guessing you had more than we did yesterday.

    Happy knitting! xx

  5. Um......No snow here. Sunny and 65F. Sorry, not sorry. I was wondering how everyone faired this weekend. There was some really ugly photos on the news about falling trees and lines breaking from the ice. So scary.

Sounds like you found a lovely way to cope with the snow day you had. Knitting is the best medicine for those type of days. Especially when it is all for you!

  7. I, too, love a good snow day. So nice to be cozy inside. I stitched. I knitted. I read. I baked and I cooked. ALL things I love to do. Our neighbor Rob came over this morning and used the snow blower to clear our driveway. Colin, Mailing & Iris are coming for diner! Colin will clear the cars. I made a vegetable beef soup and a blueberry bread for dinner and a lemon dessert.

  8. We too had so much snow and we are loving it. We just stayed at home, slept in, ate and watched movies.

  9. I love a good snow day but alas I had to live vicariously through my blog friends and family on the East Coast. We have had bitter cold temps but only a dusting of snow. The good news is we didn't have to clear much snow away and I could bake and drink tea as it was too cold to go out. Enjoy the new projects.
