Happenings
Good morning! How are you doing today and how was your week?
The weather is finally the weather I love, crisp cool mornings and a somewhat warm day. Yesterday it rained lots and I kind of liked it. I could hear the rain on the roof pitter-pattering away. The local grands slept over Friday night and we had a good time over all. My husband was tired from jet lag and I am on prednisone so my nerves are somewhat stretched thin (not complaining, it makes my mouth feel better so that is a blessing!). I continue to improve daily and for that I am grateful. I also watched them for Sunday afternoon and we had a big watercolor party at the kitchen table.
I worked on my husband's socks over the weekend since I could not work on holiday gifts in front of the kids. Of course when I cast on the second sock (yay!) I did not cast on enough stitches so I had to rip it all out and start over again. So I knit the cuff twice, ha ha.
In the bottom photo I bought the pumpkin on the right from Trader Joe's a week ago. My dad gave me the one on the left. So happy to see pumpkins and colorful leaves on the trees. I'm trying to remember to be mindful and enjoy this transient season. Fall goes by very quickly!
On Saturday afternoon, we (he) dismantled the back patio and put the summer chairs away. The forecast doesn't show much sitting outside time and so far they are predicting rain which makes putting away the back patio, well, wet.
On Sunday, I baked an acorn squash for dinner as well and it tasted like fall, if fall had a taste.

Fall definitely has a taste and acorn squash is one of my favorites! Watercolors with the grands! I can't imagine doing that with Iris...at this point...she is not even two yet! So glad to read that you are improving daily. A blessing for sure.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins are beautiful. I haven't gotten one in a few years. You make me want to go get one!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen. I loved the pictures of the Legos. So glad you get to spend a good deal of time with your grands. What a blessing. I hope you continue to feel better. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkins. It's still a little warm here most days.
ReplyDeleteI too think Fall has a taste - squash, apples, cinnamon, ginger, and later on cranberries. I am glad to hear you are on the mend. Hopefully, today is our last 90 degree day. In spite of some rain, it's dusty and dry.
ReplyDeleteYay on your mouth feeling better. That must be nice. Sweet to be able to spend so much time with the grands.
