Good morning! I'm hoping you have this day off like we do here in the states. It's Labor Day! How was your weekend? Well... because we saw our son, daughter in law and grandson earlier than planned, we decided to drive up to see my mother in law in London, Ontario this weekend since we had a kennel stay already booked and pre-paid.  It was a super quick trip leaving on Friday and coming home on Sunday. We had a lovely time seeing her and some other family members. Now we are home sweet blessed home.  Holly loves when Frodo is not here, so sad but true. I did a ton of knitting in the car and while sitting and talking on our trip, I finished the sweater body and am now on the first sleeve! I'm enjoying being home (a home body deep down inside) How was your weekend?

Good morning! How was your weekend? Well mine was just fine! I have recovered from the whirlwind impulsive trip to Indiana and so far feel 'healthy' may it continue. Saturday and Sunday I hibernated inside my house only doing whatever was necessary. I pulled out my paints and paint-doodled and I also swatched all my graphite pencils in my pouch and sketched a bit. I am rusty but it felt so good to get lost in what I was doing. In the evenings I knit but I didn't photo any of that. I impulsively bought a bullet blender over the weekend and a smoothie recipe book because why not? There is a local smoothie place that I go to once in a while but wouldn't it be great to make your own? Now keep in mind that it will be some time before I get all the ingredients together. Plus the book has tons of info to read. How was your weekend?

Good morning! How was your weekend? Mine was boring and you know how I love the simple everyday comings and goings of ordinary living. I pulled out my watercolor paints because Kat  and my sister have both been painting up a storm. It was nice to get back into dabbling. Thanks for the inspiration you two! Saturday I started a blanket with 'vintage' wool and on Sunday I ripped it all out. It was TOO rustic for my taste. I was hoping the drape of the fabric would win out but the scratchiness was just unforgiving. My husband's sock is coming along and I've put many more rows on my blue sweater. On Sunday was had a fantastic rainstorm with thundering. All the plants got watered for free.

Just when you think you've had it with the hot humid weather, Mother Nature just goes around and blows in cool crisp air. Heavenly! I opened a few windows and enjoyed the chill, refreshing and rejuvenating. I just might make it to the fall season without being overly grumpy. How was your weekend? Friday night we had dinner at my sister and brother in law's house (no cooking!). Afterwards, we sat on their back patio and enjoyed the evening. On Saturday after walking Frodo, I did a bit of cross stitching which is frustrating for me because it is white thread on off-white linen fabric, ugh. I also did a mini marathon reading session of the novel,  The Stand . I am closing in to the end of the book. (yay me) Sunday we went to Mass and I did the usual pesky household chores once we were home. Throughout the weekend I sat outside either at the patio table or on my gazebo swing (reading of course!). Oh and I started a pair of socks for my husband, just because. How was your weekend?

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good overall! I started a new knitting project, my grandson's Christmas stocking. While knitting, I listened to a few podcasts OR I was reading The Stand on my Kindle (I'm 64% done!!). Emotionally I'm at the part where I wish I didn't start such a long book just like my regretful feelings of started an afghan... But as you know I will be rejoicing when the book is finished just like a finished afghan project and forget the length of time it took for either of them.  My meditation app loves to flash a deep thought-provoking quote and sometimes I remember to write them down. The above quote is one remembered! The weather over the weekend was quite humid and sticky. I will not go into how I'm daydreaming of fall today, but the struggle is real. How was your weekend?

Happy first day of August! We are crawling towards FALL and it is glorious. I'm noticing how the days are getting shorter and the cicadas are quite loud this year.  How was your weekend? My weekend was quite restful! My husband and I took it easy and relaxed. Relaxing for me was reading and knitting, not necessarily at the same time. I started a pumpkin hat for our grandson yesterday - I'm making a bigger size because then he can wear it multiple fall seasons. We sat on the back patio coordinating our planners bringing them in paper sync. I am thrilled to be home, to be sleeping in my own bed, having quiet mornings to ponder everything and nothing at all.

Good morning! How was your weekend? On Saturday we all went up to my dad's place to celebrate his 81st birthday. We had a lovely lunch that was like a dinner - grilled salmon and roasted vegetables along with a bean salad and watermelon - yum. We ended up having beautiful weather (not hot). My cold is mostly gone but I'm still tired. I have high hopes that this week I will be back to my exercising routines. I've been walking daily with Frodo and that is pushing it! On Sunday, I worked in my art journal creating some spreads and tinkering around with my endless supply of stickers. On the right hand page on my art journal, the teeny tiny paper pocket was made by my sister, isn't she talented? After a dry spell, Mother Nature has gifted us with drizzly rain - what a delightful change!! How was your glorious weekend?

Good morning! Boy do I have a lot of catching up to do so grab your tea or coffee and let's begin! Last Wednesday our son, daughter in law and GRANDSON arrived for a three day visit! We haven't seen them since March and the visit was fantastic. Our little guy was friendly and full of smiles after a brief 'who the heck are you' look that was priceless. I fed him many bottles and changed very few diapers. (that is a great visit) They left on Saturday morning and I miss all of them already. I forgot how tiring babies can be and cannot remember where I had the energy to keep up with them. It took me 48 hours to recover from their stay. During their visit we went to the zoo and we had a family get together at our house. The other set of grandparents were able to attend and we had a grand time doting on the baby. Holly does NOT like babies. She hid under our bed until they were all asleep each day then came out begrudgingly.  Poor Holly!! Frodo thought the baby was here to

Yikes! Our weekend was full on busy fun.  My daughter and son in law are leaving sometime this morning and later on I am getting my second shingles shot. I am fully prepared for a horrible reaction and have nothing pressing on my schedule for three days. Wish me luck! We had such a nice visit. On Saturday, we were at the strip district . We walked about and breezed in and out of shops. We also had lunch but had to wait an hour for our food - I'm assuming someone didn't show up for work or they have a shortage of workers just like every other business these days. Yesterday we went to the Andy Warhol museum which I have never seen. We thoroughly enjoyed that experience. After the museum, we walked across the bridge to have a 'look see' up a street and then walked back over the same bridge to where the car was parked and drove home to the suburbs. I had fun in the city but now I am ready to hibernated in the suburbs for an entire week. I enjoyed our visit with our famil

How was your weekend? Friday night my husband and I had dinner on the patio, it was fantastic! The weather was perfect. Over the weekend, I've battled the bullying blue jays at the feeder who were over-eating, fighting with each other and not letting any other birds at the feeder. My feeder has a setting so that I can exclude by weight which is what I did on Saturday. Now I'm battling with my guilt that they cannot eat. But there was so much fighting going on! It's like recess at the playground, someone has to ruin it for everyone. I also have a multitude of red squirrels and chipmunks that stand at the bottom and pray for a seed to drop, their prayers are mostly answered. Oh and I saw the raccoon again this time at 8:30 p.m. so now the feeder comes inside the house at 6:30 p.m. The bird feeder is squirrel proof but not raccoon proof. The main point is that I am grateful there is NOT a bear like at our old home!! I wound up some lovely green yarn for our grandson's Ch

Thank you so very much for your kind words and encouraging comments. I called the office late Friday afternoon and was told 'no further treatment' is necessary from the coronary CT scan. I am feeling better and my body is adjusting to the new (three's a charm) blood pressure medicine. By mid June I will have a follow up appointment with a cardiologist closer to home and during that visit I will get the nitty-gritty of what all the cardio test results mean. I have a multitude of questions. Thank you again - I am humbled by our little blogging community and the space we share.  Did your SEE that first photo??? Like crazy grandparents we drove three hours (one way to Columbus Ohio) for a lunch date with our son and daughter in law to spend some short time with our grandson yesterday. Oh the happiness!! He is a joyful baby, how lucky am I??  On Saturday, I did lots of watercoloring, sketching, reading and basically chilling out.  How was your weekend?

After 2 1/2 years we were able to go up to London Ontario to visit my husband's mother for the weekend. We had a busy long visit and lots of shopping. The weather was super sunny (too sunny?) and quite warm. We got back yesterday and right now a thunderstorm is brewing outside along with some rain. I have classical piano music playing in the family room right now to distract Frodo from the thunder. I wish I would have thought of this years ago. It feels weird traveling after not traveling for so long. As you know I am a homebody and just love being home. I was grateful to sleep in my own bed last night. Oh! and I miss Frodo and Holly too much as well. We are all reunited. How was your weekend?

How was your weekend?  Mine was quite restful and calming. On Saturday we went to a few shops and a garden center as an outing. For the entire week we have been having rainy cloudy days. On Saturday I was just tired of it all. Did I move to a different weather zone? Or it just an unusually wet spring? Based on my photos you can see I am adoring the dogwoods that continue to blossom and shine. The above water feature was in a business building that I had to capture, sitting in the rain seemed appropriate to reflect the never ending downpours in this town. Sunday, Mother's Day, the sun came out and it was the most cheerful day. The entire neighborhood came out to garden, ride bikes or walk their dog. We all gave a collective sigh of relief. This week looks like it will be a really nice week. My Mother's Day was quiet since both kids live out of town. My aunt and cousin came over for a chat which I just loved! One of the reasons we moved here. Of course I saw my sister and we ex

Good morning! How are you on this wonderful Monday morning? The weekend was pretty good. I didn't do anything super exciting which is fine by me. The weather was fabulous on Saturday and super drippy rainy on Sunday.  I am thoroughly loving the flowering dogwood trees in the back yard. I've shared with you one photo but gosh my phone has so many. All of a sudden everything is green! Trees, bushes and lawns, the beginnings of the month of May are simply the best.  I worked a tiny bit on the cross stitch project which is so challenging for me since it's on linen. I know some of you say to keep at it but at one point I wanted to scrap the whole project and start over on Aida cloth. I resisted and will keep going. Sunday was all day rain and some rumbly thunder. I put on some piano music for Frodo and it seemed he didn't hear the thundering (he is afraid of thunder!). I might be onto something good. How was your weekend?
