October Goodness

Finally, it is October! Are you celebrating? Are you excited? All through end of July, all of August and half way through September I've been pining for October. This is the secret sauce month of Autumn and we are finally finally here. In my planner I have set up some monthly pages, one of which is 'October Ideas'. This page will be the catchall brain dump of what I'd like to do, or investigate during the month. Usually I write each week what I want to do but I have to carry it over to another week (sometimes repeatedly). Maybe a monthly catchall place will work for me. Near where I live there are plenty of farmer's markets and there is one in particular that is a compound of buildings. They have a few animals for children to say 'hi' to and chat with, you can feed them some food as well. I snapped the photo of this sweet pig (hog??). I'll be missing the big fair that was close to my old home. I find it weird that the last time at the big fair I didn&#

Right Now

Right now I'm sitting in my kitchen with the overhead lights on because it is tipping down rain outside.  Oh my, another dreary day.  This winter seems to be the winter of dreariness.  Lucky for me I like to be indoors and knit away.  I've noticed that the days are getting longer and the light is changing it's angle during the day.  Spring is slowly slowly approaching.  Slowly.  Right now I'm dressed for the gym but the rain is making me wonder if I really want to go outside.  I probably will.  It's good for me. Right now I'm admiring the books I picked up at our local library book sale.  All the Penny books are for my sister in law who is collecting them.  I have all of them on my Kindle and read them on the treadmill, what excellent company to be in when I'm visiting Three Pines!  The top three books are for my mother in law.  That leaves the pile on the right that is all mine.  It was a great sale. Right now I'm thinking about the elderly

My husband and son were in Italy last week while I stayed home and enjoyed a quiet house, you do know how much I love being home.  Anyways, I googled ONE yarn shop in Florence and sent the address to my son.  I gave the parameters of what I was interested in.  Fingering weight or lace weight, 100% wool or animal fibers.  One day last week while they were in Florence my husband called and said 'okay, what do you want?' Another knitter would have had the information burned into their soul!  We had a long detailed conversation then I asked to talk to my son who does some knitting to make sure I was being clear.  I am thrilled with the wool and the color they picked for me!  I have about 1000 yards and could squeak out a sweater.  Super excited.  I love the rosary and notebook too.  Sadly, I suddenly and I mean suddenly came down with a nasty sinus infection earlier this week.  I saw the nurse practitioner ENT who stated not only was it a sinus infection but my ea
