Sunbeams

Yesterday I walked by the front room and stopped to admire the sunbeams on the sofa.  These days seem to be filled with cloudy days.  Day after day they arrive and stay, leaving me feeling ho hum.  To my delight, the sun peeked and changed the way I felt.  There was a spring in my step and a smile on my face.

Our walk in the afternoon was a sunglasses wearing walk AND a non long john wearing walk.  What a treat!  Frodo enjoyed not being cold as well.  How funny that 28 degrees feel like a heat wave, but it did :)

Over all, the week has been tranquil and peaceful. I've had a bit of anxiety but so far I'm firming squashing it.  I'm eating healthy, I'm walking and yes, the tiny bit of yoga I do each day helps.  When I'm proactive, I feel powerful.

Have a good weekend.  Get outside and breathe some fresh air!!

  2. That sunshine does make a difference, doesn't it! I understand exactly where you are coming from.

AND...Yes...when we are proactive we do feel powerful! We are in charge of our bodies instead of allowing them to be in charge of us!

    Love the photo!

  6. I am still waiting on the sun to shine here and I think it might show itself soon, the clouds are breaking.
I love this time of year, but have discovered I need the bright sun to shine and least one during the week or else it makes my week so very long!
I also found myself wanting to eat more even though I was not hungry, not good.
I hope you and Frodo enjoy some warmer weather this weekend and can get out more. I did hear that the east coast is suppose to be below normal for the end of January so maybe I'll get a little snow? ;)

  7. I so agree about being proactive. The sunshine this week has been lovely - I'll take it whenever I can. Funny how our perceptions of temperature change through the year. I always marvel at being freezing when the house is below 69 in winter but come April and we'll be ready for t-shirts at that temp!
    Happy weekend!

  11. I've recently noticed that around 1:30-2pm the sun shines in through our lounge window onto my chair. I've found myself timing a cup of tea around it so I can sit down and enjoy the light and warmth lol. Hope you have a good weekend :)

  14. We had our first sunny day with beautiful blue skies today and it was glorious!! It was still a bit cold, but the sunshine made such a huge difference. It is supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow morning, but some friends and I are going to go walking. The plan is 10 miles... We should be nice and warm by the time we get done. :-)
    Have a great weekend!!

  16. Beautiful sun. We also have finally had a few sunny days. Today was unseasonably warm for January - near 50 degrees. I smile at your non-long john walking days. I also celebrate those walking days. A deep breath of fresh air and wind on my face makes everything better. Have a good weekend.
