Bear Hat and Mittens

I successfully knitted a bear hat and a pair of mittens over the weekend and promptly gifted them to the preschooler.  She was thrilled even though she is battling another cold (preschool!!) and feeling under the weather. I hope I do not catch it.

I did a lot of hand washing and using hand sanitizer but I have a compromised immune system due to my autoimmune disease and the medicines I take.  Fingers are triple crossed I have dodged the germs!

Anyways, I am done with knitting little hats and mittens for now.  I consider these small projects her PRE- birthday gifts.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Those are just too sweet! And, my granddaughter has a miserable cold as well (and I am just slightly glad that I am in PA and she is in MI this week!) Stay well!

  2. I love that bear hat (and wonder if I would look ridiculous wearing one as an adult)? It would probably be better to knit one for a child!

  3. That was so quick and adorable knitting, I am glad they were well received. I do hope that you don't catch her cold, that would not be a good gift back to you!

  5. Oh those little garments turned out so cute! I'm with Bonny and wondering how I would look in a bear hat - lol. I'm plugging away on my Odyssey Shawl and loving it.

  8. The hat and mittens are so sweet. I bet she looks adorable in the hat. I hope you can steer clear of the germs. There seem to be a lot of nasty viruses around. Sometimes I feel like I just about wash the skin right off of my hands. I've got two garter stitch projects going - easy knitting - a scrappy hitchhiker and (no surprise) a shawl.

  9. Oh dear. Lots of folks are sick around here. The barn kids have been missing classes the last two weeks. They are very fragile anyhow. Hope you look that child virus straight in the eye and scare it off. Im knitting the fingerless for Al, but I need more yarn tomorrow to keep on.
