Knitting News

Hello!  This week my knitting is mostly the same except for the new socks on the needles.  I decided to knit with non-pink yarn for now because well, I'm surrounded by pinks.  This sock is a Christmas gift and I haven't quite decided what pattern to put on the leg, I'm winging it as I go along.

My blush cardigan is finally at the sleeve construction, I finished the body last night after the photo below.  I only have three skeins left and I'm positive the sleeves will be 3/4 length.  It's a summer sweater so I'm okay with that.  I'm going to work both sleeves with one skein each and then see try my best to use my last skein between the two.  It'll be interesting!!

What are you working on?

  1. Happy to see someone who also knits socks with DPNs - I feel a little old fashioned but I just love using them. I have tried other methods and have decided to stick with my old favourites. The Blush is looking very pretty in pink.

  2. You always seem to find creative ways to win at yarn chicken and I bet you'll win again with your blush cardigan sleeves!

  3. I have pulled out some yarns for a shawl kal that starts June 25. Until then, I’m knitting a lot of donation hats. My shawl will definitely have pink - so inspired by your pink sweater

  4. Very pretty color for the socks. Someone is going to be very happy to receive them. 3/4 length sleeves would be nice for summer evenings. Good luck with yarn chicken.

  9. I have cast on a sock this week too! It has has a shaky start as I got the cables wrong and had to pull out a few rows and then I knit them again before I realised I had dropped a stitch and had to pull out another two rows. I am on with it now though - I hope!

  11. That's good you are starting Christmas socks now, it is a great time to start! The cardigan will be good for summer with 3/4 sleeves. I love the pink! I feel like knitting a sweater now, it has been so long since I knitted the last one.

  12. I am trying to finish the shawl and give it the ending it deserves. It could be lovely. I am ready to be done with it. There were several options offered. So....I'm doing my own!! One involved chaining a loop a making a fringe. But, I messed up quite a bit. I may stop now , and reevaluate. This shawl has been a big pain all along!

  14. One way or the other you will work out those sleeves. May the best knitter (that's you) win that game of yarn chicken. The socks look like fun. Sometimes it is fun to wing it. Don't you love it that we know enough to wing it? I am knitting on two shawls, one so scrappy it has wings, a pair of socks and a cowl. I have to finish something because I've another baby sweater to knit.
