Weekends

I had the best weekend ever because I stuffed my days with lots of creativity.  Yup.  My Saturday and Sunday were filled with knitting and painting and setting up my journal.  I can assure you I'll be doing this daily so as to continue this good feeling.  The above photo is yarn for my son in law's Christmas present (socks).  I'll be finishing my daughter's pair first before I begin another pair.

The weather felt like fall - low humidity and a cool breeze in the air.  I had the back door opened and was delighted to listen to the birds and the cicadas while fresh air billowed into the house.

The St. Francis book was written in the late 90's and it could be applied to our life today.  I'm enjoying reading this book. Have you read it?

I also put my sister's have finished featherweight on the needles, deciding to drop down a size to match her tighter gauge.  This will be my Christmas present for her - to finish off the ribbing on the body, knit two sleeves and pick up the neck edge and construct the button bands.  You know me, I love miles of stockinette (because then I can read at the same time!).

I might make a project page for this soon.

When my creative area is the messiest I am the happiest.

How was your weekend?

  2. From the looks of that coffee table, I could have sworn your son was visiting!!!! (Just kidding!) Love the creative spaces....and so much accomplished. WOW. I did a bit of sweating and a bit of complaining about being hot and a whole lot of mosquito bite scratching. I AM SO READY FOR FALL!!!! Lucky you. Please send some cooler weather my way.

  4. Windows were open here too. I reorganized the area where I knit to make it more comfortable. The electric candles went back in the windows ----- that means FALL must be here! (Well, soon at least.)

    Have a happy Monday.

  5. My weekend was full of chores and cooking for family, but that's a good thing. Today I need to get out there and mow before it starts raining, but then it's back to working on my baby blanket. I love your painting!

  6. We actually had rain here this weekend. It was in the 70s when I woke this morning. What a glorious break for us desert rats . The summer here has been brutal so anything below 100 is a blessing. Love your creative space. Messy is a sign it is in use.

  9. ...sounds like a perfect weekend...I've not read that St. Francis book...but I just downloaded it to my Kindle...so thanks for the recommendation...when I was in high school I read GK Chesterton's Saint Francis of Assisi and another book about him as well...but I can't find the title of it right now...

  13. Our weekend was some good parts and some not so. Nothing serious. We have a hard time knowing families are still gathering in small circles and we are miles from our kiddos. We try not to let it bother us, but one of the other of us, seems down on Sundays . Sundays were family days when we grew up. I simple MUST plan something for the coming weekend .......alone just my Fireman and I, but something. The next week a friend is coming across the country to see her sick brother and she is staying with us. I love her and she is super careful. We will have different parts of the house. But still
