Same Old, Same Old
Lately it seems that each day that comes and goes is just like the previous one. How have you been? Have you been able to make the days feel different? Today I am planning on wrapping some Christmas gifts and I'm toying with decorating the house this weekend which would be a week early, just because I can. I hope to have a walk after dinner and take advantage of the milder weather.
The local radio station said they will start playing holiday tunes, that was a bright beacon of delight to hear! When I was in high school, I loved Christmas and the days leading up to it. I would wear jingle bells tied to my shoes and I'm amazed that the teachers and Sisters at my Catholic high school allowed this. Maybe they liked the 'jingle jangle' or maybe they had great restraint at being annoyed.
I upgraded my phone after waiting since March to do so. Unfortunately I lost October and November photos due to a rookie mistake. I was so consumed with making sure my husband's photos were backed up that I completely blanked on my own. Thank goodness I really didn't have much on the phone!
My birthday is today and I will be having pumpkin pie after dinner, I am pretty excited about this. I am grateful for being alive, for the good health that I have, for my family and my two beloved pets - Frodo and Holly. I plan on perusing my yarn stash and considering a new cast on (for me). I also plan to pull out the watercolors.
Christmas songs have already been playing in my car radio. Quite a few of our neighbors already have their outside decor up. Ours are going up this weekend. After the horrible year of Covid, it brightens my heart to see people are not letting it dampen their Christmas joy.ReplyDelete
Happy Birthday! That is a fabulous photo of Holly. Frodo looks like he is on point while watching something intently.
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your pumpkin pie, watercolors, and a new cast on just for you.ReplyDelete
Happy birthday! There is a lot of sameness around here too. I am putting out all the pumpkins and Thanksgiving things this week and holding off on Christmas. The urge to rush forward is a strong pull but I am resisting.ReplyDelete
Happy birthday, Karen! I hope today, at least, stands out from the crowd!ReplyDelete
Happy Birthday!!!!!! Today is definitely not the 'same-old/same-old' for you!!! Celebrate with a few holiday carols...and put extra whipped cream on the pie!ReplyDelete
Happy birthday!!!! (Holly has a very surprised expression. Maybe she is surprised it is your birthday!) Enjoy every single bite of that pie (and don't forget the whippped cream!)ReplyDelete
I don't even know where the days go lately. It seems like time should be dragging with all the staying home, but it just flies right by. Have a very happy birthday Karen!ReplyDelete
Happy Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy it today and all week.ReplyDelete

It was so funny that you said the days are the same. I guess that's one thing I can't say while I'm working. Each day brings new headaches! Oh well, six more months!
Happy Birthday! I hope your day was filled with joy and a new cast on. I look forward to seeing what you choose. Your birthday and our wedding anniversary on the same day. It's a small world.ReplyDelete

Oh good for you and for carols. I listened to my James Taylor Christmas music and my Three Tenors. Fireman was out in the woods and he is not a fan of the tenors. But oh Im ready for beautiful holiday Music.ReplyDelete
