Knitting News

This past week I've been working on the same projects. As you can see in the above photo, I finished the first Christmas stocking and have started the second stocking. This is my zoom knitting because I do not have to think for most of it, just stockinette stitch around and around.

The second project is the triangle shawl. I work on this mostly in the evenings, overall I love the pattern but the hand dyed wool tends to pool once in a while, I'm hoping that the pooling looks like a design feature. Unfortunately I was mid-row when I snapped the photo so you cannot see the triangle shape, trust me it is a triangle.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Your Christmas stockings are really coming along, and I think the pink shawl looks beautiful. I'm working on overthinking a sock but pretty soon I'll quit thinking and just knit.

  5. Hi Karen,
...I love your stockings...so simple and classic...and your shawl is beautiful...variegated yarns are always tricky...they almost always pool at some point...sometimes it's good and sometimes not...

  7. Christmas Stocking knitting is a labor of love for sure. Think how many memories will be tucked inside that stocking. The shawl looks so pretty but you need to be satisfied with it.

  8. I've scheduled knitting three times a week. Didn't get to it today but I've been working on my sweater, my shawl, and my sock. I don't think I will knit shawls for a while. While I do have that shawl cuff, it still feels like a lot of trouble to wear a shawl. I'm looking toward cowls, infinity scarves, and scarves.

  10. When I first saw the photo of the stocking, I thought: "That's an odd-shaped sock". Duh! It's a stocking.
I love the colors of your shawl and I don't know that pooling would be a big problem since it's all in the same color family.
