Multitude of Minutes and Hours

Finally I'm seeing some fall foliage around the new neighborhood. Phew! I thought I'd be missing the colors this year but thankfully I'm witnessing some beautiful maple trees doing their thing. I miss my old walk down my old dirt road that has a multitude of trees turning colors, mostly oaks, maples and walnut trees. I think this move will take an entire year of firsts to get acclimated to the relocation and the newness.

Right now on walks, I'm enjoying the neighbor's trees and landscaping. We haven't been to the local park for a few weeks so maybe my husband and I need to squeeze one visit to walk with Frodo and see those fall colors as well.

The above photo was taken super early in the morning, since then the awning has been taken down by the awning people for storage and repairs. My husband is sad that summer is over, I am not, I am ready for cold weather.

Since we live in a house with a neighborhood, for the first time in sixteen years I will be having trick or treaters coming to the door. I've heard there will be about 20 kids. I'll try counting the little people but I'll lose count, I always do.

My sister's sweater is coming along. I am still working on inputting the inforomation on the Ravelry project page

I am finishing up Inktober 2021 and I'll be taking a break from daily sketching. I need to squeeze in some cross stitching instead. Oh to have a multitude of minutes and hours to do all of the crafting.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely beautiful restful weekend!

  1. Such a pretty early morning shot of your patio with the awning. I love having a covered patio so that we can sit out in all kinds of weather - rain, snow, etc. In the past few days we have noticed more leaves turning colors. Of course, now rain is in our forecast which means many will be coming down. Your sister's sweater to be is coming along nicely - so pretty! Have a fabulous weekend.

  2. I'm ready for fall weather and finally turned on the heat yesterday (just to warm things up a bit before I turned it off again)! We have a small amount of color this year but lots of the leaves are dropping already. I love that sweater and your egg sketch!

  4. I love that "dark o'clock" photo of your patio! That is a great reminder that we need to get our pergola cover stored away!

    Have a great weekend...stay dry!

  6. You could count the candy at the start of the night and then again at the end of the night.

  7. We had about three groups of trick-or-treaters here at our townhome last year. I have no idea what to expect this year, but we have a bowl of candy ready. I don't think we will have too many come. I love your backyard - wow, it is great that you have a nice patio and a deck. Yes, moving always means new things to get used to. Glad you are adjusting. See you again soon.

  8. Your sketch is lovely and I bet your sister will like that piece you are knitting for her.

We don't really do Halloween here so there won't be any trick or treaters - probably good as I think I would eat all the treads myself, haha!

Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend :) We are enjoying our long weekend. A beach day, playdate, carnival and a lot of time in the playground!

  9. That sweater is looking gorgeous. I won't be answering the door for trick or treaters this year. I never even bought candy. Our block is mostly older folks and the children don't come our way.

  12. Your wish for more minutes is so true. We were not home for Halloween this year but have had fewer and fewer trick or treaters over the years. I enjoy seeing their excitement and handing out candy. The maples in our city are glorious this year. Your sweater project looks beautiful.
