Knitting News

When in doubt, cast on a sock. I am loving this repeating striping pattern!! I know I've mentioned before that I've thrown away 3-4 pairs of my husband's hand knitted socks this winter because of unrepairable holes. He came downstairs yesterday and said yet another pair were on the brink! There is a sock imp causing mischief in this house.

My goal is always to have socks on the needles for him until I catch up with the destruction.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Are there sturdier sock yarns available? I prefer as much natural fiber as possible, but know they wear through more. I'm working on a crocheted bag!

    1. trekking XXL is the sturdiest that works for him, I think it's been a few years since I've knit him many pairs of socks and they are all getting old at the same time.

  2. I think we are knitting with the same yarn!! Trekking - which should hold up very well. I love the pops of red in the yarn, so pretty.

  3. Looks like you might need to knit faster to catch up with the sock imp!

  5. I, too, am knitting socks for my husband. Not that his have worn out but because he loves them. He has only lost one pair of socks to the sock imps in all the years I have been making them. (15 years) My man mainly wears short socks which go much quicker than crew socks. Like the yarn you jave there for your hubby's new socks.

  6. Working on a sock here. I just finished the ribbing and I'm trying to decide if I want to do a pattern or just have stockinette legs.

  7. Have your pets go after that sock imp! I just started another sock when I should have been working on a sock WIP!

  8. I haven't knit socks in ... months! Thinking I need to get a pair on the needles again for easy knitting because you are right - they are the perfect project to pickup whenever! (love that colorway!)

  9. That sock imp! Treking should hold up well. I like the colors. I also like Opal for long-wearing socks. My husband is allergic to wool so I am off the hook for the man-sized socks. I'm chugging along on my sweater and a scarf. I'm dreaming of all kinds of other projects though.
