Knitting News

This week I've been working on this last hitchhiker shawl of the summer. I have been enjoying the ease of this project, so simple for me to pick up and knit a little bit and put down. I have not tested this with talking at the same time, I'm sure I would make mistakes under those test conditions, ha ha.

The sock yarn for this shawl was F R E E. Yup! my sister asked me if I would like the yarn that was given to her by someone who didn't want the yarn. Lucky for me I thought it would make a great shawl.

What are you working on this week?

  1. Lucky you to be gifted yarn that is also very pretty and is making a lovely Hitchhiker! I can talk and knit (only on Hitchhikers) at the same time, so I bet you can, too!

  2. I find it difficult to talk and knit (or chew gum and walk). That is a lovely skein of yarn and it is turning into a beautiful Hitchhiker! I'm still plugging away on the usual - socks and my Shakerag skirt (ever so slowly...).

  5. Oh, that's gorgeous yarn! I can only knit stockinette when I talk. And since my husband and I are usually talking when I knit, I don't even try to do lace patterns ;-)

  6. I think I have that same yarn in my stash. You are giving me ideas!!!! LOL Mine is Zauberball Ragg or something like that. It's wrinkly in the ball and I'm pretty sure that is the colors.

    Yours is GORGEOUS!

  8. Pretty yarn and what a treat. I'm knitting a blue jumper, I knit it years ago with the wrong yarn. The yarn shop recommended a cheap yarn, this was over 25 years ago... I don't think yarn shops would do this now. I spend time knitting on it each day.
