Knitting News

 


While I was visiting my grandchildren last week, I did not knit one blessed stitch! (and interestingly the residual wrist pain is gone....) So all the progress you see on this first sock is from Sunday evening til now. So far, I am not loving the color-way of this skein but maybe I'll change my mind. I do love the way it feels in my hand though. Also, I'm not sure if there is a repeat in the color-way so these will probably not be matchy-matchy socks. That will be hard for me to accept, I do thrive on socks matching.

    I can totally understand how you thrive on socks matching. I am the same way...but this sock is very nice.

    The colorway is such a subtle gradient. I like it. No one notice the pair is not 100% matching unless it is pointed out to them.

    The colorways we enjoy are interesting. I think it looks like a warm soft sock. Sometimes I like my socks to match but it doesn't bother me if they don't.

    Match-matchy is not important to me, but I know it is to some. I'm glad your wrist pain has diminished and I hope that continues. Better to spend time with the grandchildren than to knit.

    I personally love the color of the yarn and agree with Bonny, the waffle pattern makes a cozy sock.

    So glad your hand pain is gone; I hope it stays that way. I don't think anyone would be able to tell whether those socks match or not. What pattern are you using? I am being tortured by a shawl pattern this week, and it's in time out at the moment!

      it's a personal pattern recipe with a simple waffle pattern (knit four rows) (k2p2 four rows).

New Year

  Good morning! How are you? Happy New Year, may this year be full of blessings to all of you. Well now, I finally have an empty home after having our son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter here for six nights.  I am still experiencing fatigue and symptoms from the virus even though I am feeling better. It was a challenge hosting family while recovering. Also we babysat the kids overnight (!!) while my son and daughter in law went for little getaway. I am thankful and grateful my Aunt came over both days to help out with the granddaughter who never sleeps during the day. (snack-naps do not count!). They all left early in the morning, and while I was tired, sleep deprived and fatigued, I put away Christmas plus all the toys and doodads you need for babies. Today I am looking at a squeaky clean house. I am planning on reading books and falling asleep while doing so! My exercise routine is on hold as I slowly get better. Maybe next week I can muster up some energy for some yoga

Hopefulness

  Good morning! This week has been busy with classes and routine doctor appointments. The arthritis doctor has a few tricks up her sleeve for some of my dry mouth issues (from my autoimmune disease - Sjorgren's Syndrome) that make me feel hopeful. What was the most important thing during that doctor visit is that I felt seen and heard. I am thankful for her and her team. Speaking of hopefulness, look at my daffodils sprouting up! Some of the daffodils are just starting and some already have a head start. I love winter, but I'm looking forward to spring. The crocuses seem to be taking their time this year, as well as the snowdrops (unless those pesky deer have eaten them, grr). Even though I am still knitting my baby blanket, I have gathered four skeins of potential socks to be and am dreaming of a wonderful sock frenzy cast on.
