Knitting News
Good morning! How are you?
I've been solely knitting my granddaughter's holiday sweater and I decided two nights ago that I do not have enough yarn (yikes). I am pretty sure that the local LYS doesn't have any more this color so I found a skein online and it will arrive some time later this week. I'm hoping I have enough for the second sleeve and will only use the additional skein on the button bands. However, if I do not have enough yarn I will rip out the garter stitch bands and use the alternate skein for that. I am assuming the dye lot will be off. The yarn is discontinued and was made aware of that fact by the LYS owner. I bought enough yardage that the pattern calls for!
So what are you working on this week?
Oh grrrr, Karen. I am sorry that you are having to add in another skein! Sigh!
ReplyDeleteWell that's frustrating! What a pretty shade of purple...I hope it all works out just fine.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that the required amount of yarn that you purchased for the project wasn't enough. You are clever in the way you make the adjustments! I love that color!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a pretty color.
ReplyDeleteergghh. That purple is such a pretty color! Button bands and hems are great ways to hide dye lot differences. and of course you don't want anything noticable ... and a subtle dye lot shift is a story about how that handknit sweater was crafted. It's all good!
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ the purple 💜 colour.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming out really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I have so many single skeins of yarn is that I always buy one extra. I usually have to dip into the last skein a little bit. I love the sweater that you are making.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. At least you found another skein somewhere. The color is very pretty. I'm knitting on a pink one-skein scarf.
