Slow Going Day
I find it humorous that when I am feeling on top of the world in my physical activity and my dedication to the gym, something humbling happens to reset my confidence. Yesterday I was in a hurry (always bad) and I tripped over my husband's boots in the garage. There is an ongoing dispute as to how 'tucked' away they are. My opinion is if I trip on them they are not tucked away. Keep in mind these boots have been in the same place for ten years, you would think I would learn..
The good news is I did NOT fall nor did I sprain any delicate ankles. Also my back is fine. The bad news is I stumbled and pulled my right back leg muscle that just aches. Good grief.
I'm hoping this is a quickly resolved strain/sprain since I already feel a lot better this morning. And I never did take any pain medicine last night. However it's a slow going day. Watch where you walk people!
The winds were blustery yesterday and winter has made its appearance once again. In my mind I'm still in pre-spring mode loving the birds and the grass that is turning a bit greener. Yesterday was the best mail day, I ordered some yarn online and I'm about to cast on a sweater for me. It's the last wool sweater of the season. I'm kind of excited and will share details with you soon.
Today will be the last day of washcloth knitting. I'm on the last skein of the scrubby cotton and my hands will be thankful that I'm done. These will be Easter gifts along with some handmade soap not made by me.
Miss Holly says hello to all of you as she decides how to be mischievous in her day to day antics. She is one very happy cat as long as we do not have any visitors. She loves Frodo in spite of his flaws and we keep hoping one day he will stop chasing and barking at her.
The older I get, the more cautious and careful I try to be. It doesn't always work and I often trip over boots not tucked away! Love that Hitchiker and your watercolors!ReplyDelete
Ugh, I am sorry you stumbled and hurt yourself! I prescribe time working on that gorgeous hitchhiker! (moderated by moments of painting with watercolors!) Have a good weekend!ReplyDelete
Gah! Sorry you stumbled, but happy you didn't fall. I seem to trip so easily and often! Your hitchhiker looks beautiful and I always enjoy seeing your artwork. What a sweet picture of Holly!ReplyDelete
And last night when I got home and opened the car door, I thought the wind was going to rip it off of the car! Yikes it was strong!! Luckily a bit calmer this morning.
I am happy that you didn't break anything. I have too many friends breaking arms and wrists and legs! Those books look interesting. Enjoy your slow goingReplyDelete
Ohhhhhhhhh!!!!! That husband, no matter how great he is in other ways, needs to push those boot _back_!!!!!ReplyDelete
It could have been so much worse, to fall on a garage concrete floor. -sigh-
Hope you leg is feeling A-OK soon.ReplyDelete
The color on your Hitchhiker is beautiful!
Sure glad you didn't break anything and am hoping you feel a lot better today. Your Hitchhiker reminds me that I still need to try that pattern!ReplyDelete
Well as one who just fractured my coccyx bone, I am so glad you DIDNT. If I wasn't allergic to garter I'd jump on that Hitchhiker Truck with y'all but me and garter just don't!.....Feel better. I love the yarn you are using to make the shawl.ReplyDelete
That sounds like the sort of thing I would do, trip on boots that were in the same place for years. I do hope your leg is feeling a little better today. Love your watercolours.ReplyDelete
Glad you seem to be okay after the trip. I constantly trip over things in the house that have been here for 100 years. I'm such a klutz, the ER has actually brought the cops in to talk to me because they thought I was being abused because I'd been there 4 times in less than 2 years for klutzy maneuver injuries. It was a little mortifying trying to make them believe that I really am just that klutzy.ReplyDelete
LOVE the hitchhiker! What yarn is that? It's gorgeous!
That's good that you didn't hurt yourself too badly and just had a bit of a sprain. Those books look good and love your journal. Hope your family loves the washcloths and handmade soaps. Hello Holly, she is too cute. Have a good weekend!ReplyDelete
There is no way you were going to get through that stumble unscathed. Hope your leg feels better quickly. Love all that you have been making lately. Have a wondeful week.ReplyDelete
Good grief is right. So I will definitely be watching where I walk. Anyway I have some yarn that could be made into a sweater but need to finish a barely begun gift knit first. That's going to be a lovely spring hitchhiker. I so enjoy seeing your watercolors too. Take good care and no more falling.ReplyDelete
Falling is a BIG fear of mine now. Im always afraid of breaking something or hurting my back,(2 previous surgeries).ReplyDelete
Richard Rohr is my favorite author right now, I read everything he writes!
Look how grown up Holly looks; she looks as old as our Mortie and Minnie. I'm glad you didn't injure anything. I fell coming out of the shower last night; have a big owie on my right foot right by the arch. Been icing and the meds I take for my mouth have been helping.ReplyDelete
