Weekends

This weekend was a stay at home do nothing weekend and it was glorious. I will not talk about the snowflakes I witnessed yesterday morning, instead I will focus on all the daffodils blooming and the possible tulips that are trying their best to survive whatever is eating them (deer? rabbit?). Spring is arriving and I'm patient enough to wait for it.

I managed to really really clean the house. The dusting and the vacuuming that I love to procrastinate on until it's unbearable is completed until the next time. The house looks so tidy!

I worked on the baby sweater and am nearly ready to cast on one more baby sweater for another gift. Also, I dusted off my paint set and did a little sketch. In between I marathon read some books and abandoned one book which was liberating!

How was your weekend?

  1. Love your sketch and your knitting is coming along nicely if you are contemplating casting on for ANOTHER baby sweater! Thanks for the cleaning reminder...I believe I have procrastinated for far too long! LOL

  4. Very unlike yours. I am looking forward to have a weekend of nothing to do.. but don't see it in my near future.
That is a lovely sketch and paint.

  5. You are so very talented! I love the painting and what I can see of the sweater!
You might try putting a little chunk of soap in the flower garden to keep the deer or rabbits away. It works in my vegetable garden.
I love those stay at home hunker down kind of weekends. I am seriously due for one.

  6. It sounds like a perfect weekend. I've just abandoned a book I started. Onwards to the next book. We took a trip out on Saturday, so some crochet in the car. Not the big blanket ha ha... I started a small mat (probably) as it's 50% cotton & acrylic - not good for a dishcloth.

  7. We had a long TV weekend of baseball and the Masters. It snowed and I closed all the shades. I just couldn't take it anymore! Today is Sunny!!! Tomorrow promises to be nice before storms come in. I love your baby sweaters.

  8. Don't you just love daffodils? They improve even the gloomiest day. Sounds like you had a nice weekend and are making good progress on the sweater. Great painting!

  9. Your sketch is lovely. We were able to walk and attend Palm Sunday Service in person. Enjoy the daffodils, tulips, and baby sweaters.

  10. Great watercolor sketch. That will be one lucky baby that gets that sweater. I am assuming it is probably for that cute little grandson of yours. Hope your week is perfect. We are getting a BIG spring snow storm here tonight, but spring will come back soon. :-)

  12. I am little late but your last weekend sounded perfect. I suspect that you have cast on that new sweater now. I do love your sketch, so delightful.

  13. I like the strong outlines of your watercolor and the colors you used to fill in. The mustardy yellow was a nice pop against the teal grasses. I love that you're doing all of this baby knitting.
