Focus

Good morning! How are you on this first day of March? March!, can you believe it? Time just fly by sometimes and sometimes it moves at a snail's pace. I love winter but I have to confess, I'm excited about spring jacket wearing weather.

With a new season so close to arriving, I'm thinking of goals. Personal goals, menu planning goals and what I want to focus on.

Whenever the summer schedule is released at school, I might do more exercise classes, maybe. I enjoy Tai Chi so much, maybe I would like the others and the only way to know is to try one out. What I choose depends on what class it is and when it is offered. I try to bundle my classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I like Thursdays and Fridays free for my regular life and other commitments.

My knitting goals are to not have knitting goals. I am thoroughly enjoying my free and easy knitting time. Below is a shawl I started early in January. After a month long break from it, I have returned to leisurely knitting a row or two a day while listening to a podcast. I feel like I'm vacation when I knit this.

My menu planning is usually flying by the seat of my pants. It would be nice to have a new recipe once a week. I'm skeptical I'll do it, but I'm writing this down so I can hold myself accountable.

While I am good at listening to my body and resting when necessary, I want to make sure I drink enough water, exercise daily, and reflect at the end of the day how mindfully present I was.

As spring approaches, what are focusing on?

  1. That is a colorful shawl! I'm envious of your tai-chi classes. I've never actually tried it but there don't seem to be any class nearby. If I was a bit more ambitious I could probably check YouTube.

  3. I am focusing on winding down in the evening so I sleep better. Drinking more water is a focus point too.

Hope your March works out just like you want.

  4. Gorgeous shawl color. Spring has sprung here. Temps are warming up, lots of sunshine, geese are leaving for home, trees are blooming and spring training baseball has started here.

  5. Karen, the shawl is gorgeous. I love the colors! It's always good to listen to our bodies, but I have to confess, I don't always do my best when it comes to that.

I just finished making out the menus for the month yesterday and we shopped for groceries this morning. I love being able to look at the menu and see what I am cooking each day. :)

  6. I've been trying to make a new recipe each week also as I have a multitude of clipped recipes. Your shawl is beautiful. I love the colors. I have to get back to the exercising. I certainly don't do it daily like I should.

  7. What a pretty bright shawl to knit into Spring. The only goal-like thinking for Spring will be a Spring reading list. These seasonal lists are more like suggestions though. I will also be thinking about the yard and garden. I'm looking forward to Spring too.

  8. What a colorful shawl to welcome SPRING!! Our weather seems to still be up and down...some days chilly or downright cold and other days tempting with warmer temps. It was sunny today which was a blessing.

  9. Hi Karen! What a beautiful shawl! Yes, spring is on the way - but first we are having another big snow storm here in Utah this weekend. Our mountains could get up to three feet of snow! Spring will eventually get here. I have always wanted to try Tai Chi. I hope you have a good weekend.

  10. Looks like a rainbow shawl! I love spring flowers. I wonder if there are any other colors for crocus that yellow and purple?
