Happenings
Good morning! How are you?
Well we had the time change this weekend, the nights are super cosy now. I love it. I get so much more knitting done in the fall and winter compared to spring and summer and I give the time change the credit. We had chilly weather and I even wore a winter coat one morning.
Holly found the perfect sunspot and I was able to document it. She doesn't like her photo taken usually, she finds the behavior suspicious. Over the weekend we hosted our daughter in law's birthday party and local family attended as well as her mom. The gathering was wonderful however, I was tired after all the setting up and putting away. My sister helped in the kitchen and that made my work easier.
I do not remember how loud kids were when mine were little. I love how my memory is warped because you know they were loud sometimes, right?
Despite my fatigue I did walk outside over the weekend and enjoyed the fall views. I have the rest of my tests for the pulmonary doctor this week. Goodness! A very busy week.
I started on little socks for the newborn on Halloween night as I gave out candy. I have discovered that I cannot give out candy and count kids at the same time and greet them. I found that amusing. If I counted correctly we had 28 kids which is more than last year.

Love the picture of Holly bathing in the sunlight. Mabel does not really like her picture taken either. And, my memory is very, very warped these days! LOL. We had lots and lots of rain last week and then lots and lots of wind. We had zero trick or treaters come to our door. I also saw the possibility of snow for a week from now!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of Holly indeed! We, like Vera, had a sum total of ZERO trick or treaters.
ReplyDeleteI think kids have probably always been loud, we just notice it more now. Now teens? They can be truly obnoxious when they are out. THEY are very loud.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a warm and lively weekend. I love how you capture those small cozy details knitting, fall walks, even Holly finding her sunspot. It all feels so homely and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHello Karen. I think I am back to the blogging world again. How lovely of you to host your daughter-in-law's birthday. I'm glad that your sister helped you in the kitchen. Those little socks are darling!
ReplyDeleteFamily gatherings are joyful but being the hostess does take a lot of energy. Sweet little socks in such a pretty bright color. We had more trick or treaters than the past two years. It was fun.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I love those little socks! So cute! Holly sure found the perfect place for a rest. We only had five trick-or-treaters - two really small kids with their mom and dad, and about an hour later a group of three teens. That's more than last year when we didn't have any. I sure look forward to moving to a neighborhood with a few more kids. I hope you have a good week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteYou might be the only person I know who likes in fact loves the shorter days and longer nights.. I feel the opposite of productive. The red/maroon is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAww what a cute picture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of Holly.
