Happenings
Good morning! How are you doing today?
Just look at that dogwood tree showing off early signs of fall. I am so ready for fall, for cooler weather, for being able to walk outside and for be cold down to my bones. It's coming but not soon enough. Also, have you noticed how the light is angled differently and it's getting darker earlier at night? Baby steps to autumn.
I've been dealing with salivary gland issues again and ended up going to urgent care yesterday morning and received antibiotics for an infection. The medicine is not acting fast enough, ha ha. I become easily discouraged when I have difficulty eating. I'd rather have any other of my problems happen. In good news I've found an urgent care facility near me who has the nicest people working there. What a treasure, everyone seems to love their job and shows empathy to patients.
While feeling rotten, I tend to do puzzles and read a lot. I find it hard to do much else. I am so grateful I keep track of the many symptoms I have so I know quickly when to go to the doctor for intervention.
We were supposed to have the local grand kids sleep over Saturday night but all of that was cancelled because they are battling viruses and to be honest I was not feeling healthy enough to take care of them even with my husband helping. This weekend coming up our daughter and her family are coming to visit us! We are celebrating our youngest grandson's first birthday here with extended family. I have a lot to get done by Friday, but I have my handy to do list that never fails me.
I worked some on the socks and finished another tiny sweater ornament. So far I have made five of them, I'd like to knit nine total but we will see if I have enough yarn and the motivation to do so.
What have you been up to? How do you deal with under the weather symptoms?

Such a pretty sock! I sure hope you are feeling better. It's awful to feel lousy. When I don't feel well I tend to sleep a lot. I. bet you are excited to see your daughter and her family. I'm thankful C&M live nearby so I can see Iris ALL the time!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better and soon! You are always in my thoughts and prayers, Karen. XO
ReplyDeleteI also am hoping you feel beeter soon!! What fun it will be to have your grandson's first birthday. It is hard to be away from our grandkids, I know that.
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ your sock, Karen. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you are unwell.. that sucks.. and yes, not being able to eat really is the worst. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you have been under the weather but I admire the way you find things for which to be grateful. A nearby good urgent care center is a blessing. When I don't feel good, I knit on an easy garter stitch project like a washcloth and when I can't do that I read something light. When none of the above works I rest. Enjoy the birthday.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! Rest up and I pray all will be better soon
